Ford Focus

Featured Replies

Reet i need a new car to take with me to Holland so i can get to and from work on the late shifts. Dont wanna spend more than ?3000 on it as i will only use it every other week. IS a ford focus a good option? Anyone got any suggestions of decent motors for that price?

Go with the focus choice pal cracking car for what you need!

had a focus

absolutely loved it

only sold it as I was moving

If it's only for commuting every other week, get a scooter.

sorted. focus it is....just need to find one with one old biddy owner from new :)

Focus are a cracking car I've had 4 now and they have all been good aside from one problem on my 04 plate TDCI, something to do with dual mass flywheels in the clutch. they used pritt stick to hold them together and they can fail, leaving you with a ?500+ bill. fortunately mine failed under warranty and was sorted. so would be wary buying a tdci that is pre 05 plate where they changed the flywheel to a more robust system

Bought a Focus for Mrs Darby a few years ago

Very reliable apart from the air con that only works on the highest setting or not at all and the radio reception is bobbins

Steers like a tank but it's a solid motor and hasn't ever let us down yet

Does anyone use air con? I've got it on mine, which frankly is ridiculous, and have never used it.

mine is never off.

mine is never off.

Why? Do your windows not work?

I suppose you put the central heating on in December & off in February too.

draft, wind noise, road noise, traffic noise, very difficult to get the right temperature just using the window.

plus windows piss the baby off, sommit to do with flies in his eyes.

octavia

Fantastic car, I have now got a new shaped one myself, its the same as a Passat but a heck of a lot cheaper

All the time, but I do live in the tropical south.

why would anyone use air-con on a convertable, surely if its hot enough to put the air-con on, you would drop the roof instead.

I'm pretty sure that MythBusters thing on Discovery reckoned that Air-Con in a car increases your fuel consumption but not as much as driving with windows open.

Just make sure no baby rabbits get into the engine like Spiders brothers car. Rabbits can write a Ford Focus off :)

manual air con is for peasants anyway.

climate control is what the more affluent of us are used to.
