Heroes. Footballers aren't really heroes. Neither are musicians, at least very rarely, and even then it's usually because of something over and above writing and singing. Controversial as it might sound, simply signing up for the armed forces doesn't make you a hero either. It might give you the opportunity to display your heroism, but wearing a uniform and being paid to kill the people you've been told to kill, shouldn't give you that title automatically. Unless you've volunteered.
