Piemon Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 spanish people cannot say 'Character' it dont sound right. Martinez says it every week grinds my gears that.
Juan.Kerr Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Obviously. When it isn't. Up for grabs. When it isn't. Quite literally. When it isn't.
MickyD Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Obviously is a word used by people who can't put up a proper argument for or against. It is there to try to convince others that he knows what he is talking about and puts a bit of doubt in the mind of those being spoken to.
Sweep Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 "man up" is another one that folk seem to be saying a lot at present.

no balls Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 "man up" is another one that folk seem to be saying a lot at present. If it's in reference to this I have no issue with it. http://www.manupcampaign.org/
Sweep Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 If it's in reference to this I have no issue with it. http://www.manupcampaign.org/ That's fine. I'm on about when it is being used by the likes of John Terry.....he says it in nearly every interview now.

magic legs Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I'm fucking sick of hearing the word "brave" banded around. Also, and this might be a bit controversial, why is it that EVERYONE who dies from a terminal illness, "fought it bravely"? http://www.theonion.com/articles/loved-ones-recall-local-mans-cowardly-battle-with,772/
DazBob Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 http://www.theonion.com/articles/loved-ones-recall-local-mans-cowardly-battle-with,772/ That's hilarious.
frank_spencer Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I'm bravely going to admit that I'm literally guilty of using obviously awesome phrases such as 'Man up' i basically don't care.
DazBob Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 ooh, ooh, ooh. "End of" to end an argument.
Guest Biff Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I'm fucking sick of hearing the word "brave" banded around. To me, being brave is what frontline soldiers do, or jumping into the middle of a fight to protect someone even though you know you're likely to get a damn good pasting. Instead, on Saturday morning, I must've heard it at least a dozen times being used to describe a team that had just lost a game of rugby. Also, and this might be a bit controversial, why is it that EVERYONE who dies from a terminal illness, "fought it bravely"? It also gets on my wick when people use words they clearly don't know the meaning of. For example, "I was literally over the moon." Now unless you're Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin, methinks you probably need to look in the dictionary. Now were you really sick when you heard the word brave. Tell the truth now. And do you have a wick. If so what is it that gets on it when you hear someone say that they were over the moon.
