Best bit of the night for me was Ngog fetching the ball out of the net after he scored. There to win it.

Point (3) doesn't matter as it's an entire sentence. Also, even the commentators on Fox Soccer paid tribute to how well he handled the balls into the box (considering the blustery conditions). Jussi would not have come for those crosses, our defence would have been a little less stable, and we'd have probably lost the game. Speculation obviously, but entirely possible.

 

Your point of view makes it out that only saves dictate how well a keeper plays. As you've linked point 1 and 2 in your breakdown of posting history, it suggests that you saying "Can't recall him having anything to do" is in reference to TTMW's "make some good saves!" - this follows that you think all a keeper does (to prove he plays well to you) is make saves from shots. All I was saying, is that if you had ever played football, especially as a defender, a keeper can play fantastically without even touching the ball - by organising his defence and making the whole back line and beyond feel comfortable that their mistakes (if they make any) will not end up in a goal.

 

For example, if he hadn't come out and claimed several crosses from Baines (and just one of them resulted in a goal for Everton) people on this site would be slating Steinsson for not stopping the cross coming in. As it happens, he dealt with the crosses amiably, which meant that Steinsson could relax and concentrate on doing his job.

I've already said he made catches, the other thing I initially said was that he didn't (that I could recall) make any saves, which was a reply to TTMW, not a dig at Bogdan, if TTMW said K.Davies hit the crossbar with a bicycle kick, I would have questioned this like I did with Bogdan making saves (not catches)
