They're currently quite fashionable.

Maybe not in Barrow, granted, but they are.

The day i see an old asian bloke walking the streets of Bolton wearing a flat cap would be a first.

You'd think it didn't exist looking at some of the sights of a match day though, to be fair.

Still play Pitch and Toss in Leigh, won loads off the Senagalese in the Alehouse carpark.

some of the matchday attire worn by them in the 'crazy corner' is borderline embarrasing.

"...most [football hooligans] are obviously repressed homosexuals."

Richard Heller, The Mail on Sunday, 27th October 1991.

I must say that I have felt similarities between being in a pub full of soccer casuals and being in a pub full of gay men. There are the same furtive glances at each other's clothes and an eerie feeling of being in a room full of Regency Dandies from a bygone era.

=@

And before anyone gets the wrong end of the stick, and offers to meet me to 'buy me a pint' on Saturday - don't shoot the messenger :innocent: And, although I've never been involved in owt that Danny Dickhead Dyer may term - 'pwapa nawty', I've got a few choice pieces by Prada in the wardrobe - and have 27 pairs of 'for best' adidas trainers, so I suppose I'm a bit of a dandy too.

The Mail quote above was used in a academic(ish) piece called:

Football and drugs - Two cultures clash. THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF DRUG POLICY, VOL 5, NO 1, 1994.

This is a link to the full thing, it's worth a quick scan - if only to criticise/comment on what's written...

I've worked with Mark Gilman a lot over rthe last 14 years, he is a sound bloke and really does know his stuff, if you have ever seen any of Lifelines cartoon type literature, he is responsible for it

Oi I have a tapout t-shirt. Admittedly like most brands its gone chavtastic since mike Ashley started stocking it in his emporium of tat.

I have no issue witht the brand, it's how it's worn that annoys me. I bought a pair of Vans nearly 2 years ago, now every chav wears them with Nike Air Max tracksuits. I binned my vans last week.

I poppped in sports direct last week for some gym wear, was an eye opener to say the least.

What is with them "Toms" shoes?

Can't be comfortable!

Espadrilles?

Very 1980's.

Espadrilles?

Very queer 1980's.

Toms are comfy as fook, there ive said it
