Should I Know Better?

Featured Replies

Stood there watching the dregs of Reading half marathon coming through the 8 mile marker 2 hours in, when I spot a fat lad wearing a Wolves shirt.

Short chorus of "We are the one and only Wanderers" put an extra step in his stride and clenched fist salute as he approached.

Look on his face when he heard " 3 2 to the Wanderers" ... priceless!

Missus said I should know better going up for 50 and called me a big kid.

I'v started to wonder as I'm not getting younger, but have conclude, the day we grow up we may as well put out deposit down for a wooden box.

So, the answer is maybe, but why the fuck should you?

Yoou're never too old to take the piss out of an opposition supporters, especially one who wears orange and pretends it's not orange. Wankers!

Hope it wasnt the fella who dropped dead at the finish line

Quality! Would love to have seen his face.

Didn't know someone had. Poor sod. Been in the boozer since about 12.30 and just got back.

Hope it wasn't.

The fact that the first bloke who ran one dropped dead straight after has always been enough for me to think it a really bad idea.

Doing the Manchester Marathon at the end of the month and I can confirm that its fucking hard work.

Did 16 miles today to Blackburn and back.

love this original post, but do the Wolfs actually sing this song as we do, cheeky twats if they do.

i thought it originated in the game against them in the FA cup game when we beat them 2 1, at the recently rebuilt Molyneux. 1993 ish?

Of all the places you could run to, why the fuck choose Blackburn? ::lol::

Good lad Thorpey, you're never to old to abuse them fuckers, +1

My dad was always a bugger for winding fans up, remember him at Stoke City outside chanting Blyth Spartans at the top of his voice, with us all cringing.

I recall that it wasn't wholly rebuilt. We were stood at the end of the ground under just the steel work of the old roof.

Doing these marathons probably puts your body under a lot more stress than an all weekend lash up. Thats why i take the senisble decision and go to the pub

Maybe because after 8 miles he's got an extra incentive to keep on running?

Manchester Marathon is flat so I go on the canal to replicate run, from Chorley you can go to either Blackburn or Wigan!

Cancer or AIDS?

An American athlete and marathon runner, Jim Fixx, wrote that if you can run a marathon you will never die of a heart attack, yes, he died of a heart attack

half way to one, turn round, half way to the other, and back without dirtying yourself

A precise comparison. That made me laugh.

Think it was 2 - 0 and the game when I couldn't get a ticket so called Wolves ticket office, strapped a plaster cast round me leg, borrowed some crutches and went in as disabled. Free parking space, tickets for two etc. Naughty I know but a mans got to do ......... Did get ejected for my own safety near the end! Ripped the plaster off by the gate and jumped in the car. Didn't look back to be honest so god knows what the look on the stewards faces were like!

Good shot on me and my 'carer' (the then bird) sat behind the netting when we notched the 2nd on the Roadrunner VHS!
