Alan Stubbs

Remember when he played for us many saying he was a future england captain , and i think the potential was there. but like so many who leave the whites his career never really took off.

Eh ?? Its not like he took a step down.

1- Bolton fans ALWAYS over-rate their players

2- He played in the champions league

3- He got his dream move and played for his boyhood club, and got them into Europe.

Thats success !

In those days, I'd agree that we over rated most players with any semblance of talent, as we had been starved of quality for so long.

Alan Thompson was a good example. He states in his book that he was 'out of his depth' at Aston Villa.

We don't do it as much these days.

Wheater for England anyone?

No grudge against Stubbs.

I was young when he was at our club so wasn't aware of the bitterness at the time. Remember him scoring the winner against Blackburn and leading us out at Wembley twice so for that I always quite liked him.

Not as good as he thought, or was told he was, like many more. Everton was not the move to a big club he wanted, but a move to his boyhood favourites was always going to swing it.

Billy Big Bollocks. Sorry, bollock.

As you were.

England caps is not the only quide for Success though, surely. Medals is the utimate guide mind.

But their are many levels of success. Stubbs was a decent player, quality for you and Celtic, just decent for us. We got him too late, we should have got him when he begged us !!

I would say becoming a pro footballer IS success for a start.

McAteer surely had the most disapointing career after you ?

He looked a proper top talent, and just didnt do much after you.

Michael Ricketts has the worst career after us.

Out of Stubbs and McAteer I would say they had equal careers after leaving us to be honest.

Michael Ricketts has the worst career after us.

curcic?

gunlaugsson?

Michael Ricketts has never reached the dizzy heights of being on Celebrity Big Brother remember, Homo.

Stood out like a sore thumb when he made the first team in the old div 3 , think he was about 16.

curcic?

am always looking for an opportunity to post this...

don't do drugs kids

thought mcateer would have gone on to be a top, top player when he signed for liverpool, watched him play for us away at port vale, think it might have been his first season in the team and remember thinking this kid has got one hell of an engine. may be it was something to do with him not being picked up untill he was something like 20, perhaps there is a reason nobody gambled on him earlier.

McAteer played in a world Cup

Stubbs didn't

They both made enough cash out the game to see them comfortably through life if they have any sense

Stubbs played for Everton after us so is a cunt in my view, though I wish him well with the cancer history
