Not a very rock 'n' roll way to spend Easter Sunday... but done one at Bowlers.

My god that was an eye opener. Comparable to a trip through the main souk in Marrakech.

In fact Marrakech meets Skopje.... it was an Eastern European benefits stampede.

Just about to have a bath in a detergent, bleach & Dettol cocktail!

Was it as grim as you thought it'd be?

I have far too much stuff in my house that I don't want, but can't bring myself to do it.

I sold a plastic funnel for 5p. He had to think twice before he bought it. And 2nd hand toasters, sold 2, but why would anybody - its just wrong? And 2 kettles.

?98.80 between 2 of us! Got plenty of "stock" left.

98 quid? That's a lot of funnels is that.

I did one a few years ago, full of peasants it was. I decided from that point I would rather take my stuff to a charity shop. Sod getting up at about 7 on a Sunday morning to possibly make circa ?90

Never done one, never will. If I think sommat's worth decent money I'll Ebay it. If not I'll give it to charidee.

Girlfriend of mine once did one and an asian family wanted to buy her calculator. She quoted 20p. The family refused and offered 8P and wouldn't budge. They left empty handed. I'd have thrown it on the ground and stamped on it in front of them.

Offered a wacky silly face?

Where the fuck did that come from??

Edit: haha. I guess putting an 8 next to a p is the answer.

They offered ?0.08.

Done about four since august. Made just shy of a grand.

Recently I have just been donating anything from house clearances to British heart foundation

Do em quite often over the summer, people give us stuff to sell and we make extra pennies.

Jobs a good un.

did a Table Top sale today and we'll do some Car Boots over the next few month to make extra baby funds.

I'm not too proud to get up of a sunday to make a few extra quid.

Manc Peasants buying plastic funnels. Hate to think what they would want them for... apart from away trips in the minibus!

I know of folk who flog excess stock, old stock, etc from where they work and regularly top a grand per car boot.

Been told to try Chelford next time.

It's got me thinking this and I've been through my wardrobe.

Tomorrow am I shall be ebaying. You don't have to wear fingerless gloves or smell peasants doing this.

BUT, how do you work out postage? Do I have to weigh everything or is there a clever way of doing this?

did one at daughters school bout 4 years back for school funds was ?20 to the school and 10% of what you made made ?55 for 4hrs and the stuff i did not sell drove stright to the tip with it

amanzing what shit people will bye

look on royal mails website, to get a rough idea, and remember to try and include how much it will cost you to pack, if your selling something quite worthwhile (tenner +), have a look what other people have sold them for and how much postage they have charged,

Some items such as clothes are restricted postage costs to avoid people making money on postage ( you dont get charged a final fee on postage so some people bump it up). It sucks as sometimes costs you more than your allowed to charge to post, however you can list these items as freight and then put the cost in your description :)

Anything big or heavy is cheaper to send through myHermes.com and a man comes pick it up rather than joining the dole queue at the.post office.

I did a car boot for the first time on Saturday and it was like a stampede. I only opened the boot of the car and folk were trying to get at my "stock"

After setting up and a bit of haggling with folk I made ?98 profit so not bad for just over 3 hours.

Just look at similar items on ebay, and see what they are charging for postage.

Another tip is to look on "completed listing" for similar items to the ones your flogging,to see what sort of money they sold for.

Don't bother with posting, just put "Collection Only" - then you'll have a load of scutters coming to your door paying for your old pyjamas and blouses. You would love that I reckon :D
