How can just a game make you feel like this if it was just 22 players kicking a ball around?

 

A season of mixed emotions, mainly bad ones like anger, disappointment and that lost feeling, staring into the sky just hoping things will turn out to be okay.

 

Right now I can't stop thinking of Bolton, when I wake the first thing on my mind is Bolton, throughout the day it's Bolton, seeing other football it's Bolton, I ain't played FIFA 12 since Saturday because I get a really bad feeling inside and it's just too depressing, doubt I'll even watch the Europa League final later on.

 

I try to focus on other things, we're still a few days from 'D-Day' but it feels like it's about to begin, I don't feel anger now, I feel empty, sat sometimes in self pity and anxious of what will happen, you care so much it feels like it's the only thing in your life, in your thoughts.

 

If we stay-up it'll be a mental closure to this torture, though if we drop, I'm not looking forward to the summer, hopefully the Euro's and England can soften the pain (as if, right?)

 

Life is life, much more than football, but it's not just a game, I/we wouldn't feel these emotions if it was.

As a football fan failure is much easier to take when you've realised that's all football is .An exercise for people to make money.

call me a fool, but away games, expecially shit ones are what strengthen your affiliation with your club.

 

if i just went to home games for the last 20 years, i dont think i'd have the same emotion over the club.

 

home games are a just games of football, away games are an experience.

 

maybe its just me.

 

maybe this is why im not all that bothered if we were relegated? as i rarely do away days these days. i have young 2 boys who take precidence over football atm.

 

when i say bothered, of course it will be a terrible thing and i'll be gutted, but i wont feel like ive felt before after relegation.

 

when jimmy philips squared the ball for le tiss, that was a gut wrenching feeling!

 

enough to make you physically sick.

 

and being relegated a chelsea certainly brought a tear to my eye.

 

but i doubt i'll get either of those feelings on sunday.

I used to think lads that didnt care passionately about a football team were a bit, well, Chris Eagley. Now I see folk cryin at football games and it all looks a bit 'sa a aad'. Personally, i think it's great to have a passion for something but it has to be put into perspective.

 

How about re phrasing that question CWP? Would you take BWFC staying up if it means someone passes away (and vice versa)? Daft i know, but we all know the answer, i hope!

 

Mind you im gonna look a right twat Sunday when im either; crying, smashing cups or sulking like a 7 yr old who's had his Star wars figures confiscated. Possibly all 3!

Can't say being in the Franchise League is the main driving force for me. I love drinking and the fact it means I can do it all day when there's a game on.

The BPL isn't a competition we could ever hope to win and there are some big names in the Championship. It's the threat of falling like a skydiver without a parachute that fills me with dread - not what might happen at the Brit and/or the Etihad.

That sums up all that's wrong in the game; it's described above as a life changing amount- whereas for your very average prem player this is a weeks wages. Hardly life changing for them.

I watch (or have watched) predominantly L2 football over the last five seasons - next year happily will be L1. I fell out with the BPL when all this money came into the League and Jonny Foreigner's were flooding 1st XIs up and down dale (hence the English national team lurching from one embarrassment to another). Leagues may end up becoming regionalised again to help clubs survive. Looking at Chester, AFC Telford and Wrexham - there's three clubs who have all had rotten businessmen at the helm and suffered greatly as a consequence. Why are so many of these Chairmen brilliant in their chosen fields but become like Mr. Bean when they get their hands on football clubs? Darlington the latest example quitting their 25,000 seater home that they never once filled and likely to be an Evo Stik club next season! But does anyone even care? Do they fuck, cos the world begins and ends with the BPL. I won't miss the fucker - in fact, I don't since I left it behind me in 2007. So to get back on topic, is it bollocks life or death. Will you miss Garth Smug Twat Crooks? I rest my case
