Pearce has certainly seen something I haven't

He knows 2 managers have used him rather than Sordell.

Maybe we've got brilliant lawyers who found a loop hole in this bullshit loan contract where by playing for u21s counts as minutes played, therefore reducing the minutes he has to play for us

Henry winter just tweeted this

@henrywinter: Of #eng players at Euro U-19s, Benik Afobe singled out for praise by Uefa technical team: "Afobe the cutting edge". #bwfc #afc #u21s

Sorry but I think he's poor

I'm guessing you don't know much about the entire squad.

Most of them are under 21, many are still teenagers.

Fuck me, do all young players have to be world beaters before puberty hits these days?

Not at all.

But they have to have something about them

And I haven't seen anything (although I wasn't at tranmere)

It would be helpful if we actually played them, maybe then we can judge??

Still persevering with this minutes played contract clause, despite no evidence to suggest it exists or indeed, has ever existed.

Does it fuck exist.

Evidence? Next time yon mon plays is evidence.

Must admit, that's where I am at

Not saying there is such a clause, but it would explain his selection

Nobody has come up with owt else as convincing

After the last 2 games, whoever starts against Blackpool will go a long way to telling us what to expect the rest of the season

There's little point in the likes of Arsenal sending their players to clubs like us if they're just going to sit on the bench. They can do that in North London. I'd be surprised if there isn't some insistence that the loaned players get X amount of minutes on the pitch in the loan contract.

Sometimes the players are plenty good enough (Wilshere, Sturridge).

Sometimes the players aren't (Myaichi ... and possibly Afobe).

Thing is, I still don't think we've seen enough of Afobe (playing up front as a striker - which is what he is) to make a proper judgement.

Afobe looks great in spurts and then shite more often

But the shiteness isn't in "touch" or "skill" or "ability"

For me it's when he doesn't hold it up right or chase down defenders when required....I think that is more often than not "learnt" and by experience...see SKD on a good day (or a couple of years ago maybe?)

Doesn't mean he should start for us tomorrow for example, but do not write the kid off

I know Lee and that rate him very highly from when they were taking training

am guessing that's where UEFA have seen him do well as well

different story on the pitch though, so far, has he even notched up 180 mins yet?

I saw him play a whole game for Huddersfield a couple of years ago.

He did a lot of running and made space for the other striker who must have been Rhodes.

He seemed to lose his head in front of goal and snatched at two quite good opportunities.

I suppose that he would gain more composure with experience.

I would be sympathetic to anyone who can show a bit of pace up front.

When we talk about the team being unbalanced as per Freedman, I think that is our biggest failing as it has been for a while.

Which is why I find it funny that Sordell never appears.

Or Wylde who is our only winger who seems to want to beat his full back on the outside.

And we are choc full of attacking midfielders like Butterfield.

.

Does it fuck exist.

I suspect it would be illegal to dictate which players played to other clubs.

Why would it be illegal?

illegal/against the rules

it amounts to the same thing

not sure any club should be having an influence over the selection policy at another

tho, being in different division, it probably isn't a problem

Does anyone know the rules or are we all guessing?

No, we're using common sense. I know, who would think it on here?

No, we're using common sense. I know, who would think it on here?

What a crazy notion.

I'm fairly certain that if a player is loaned out and isn't being used then there would be something in the contract that would enable the club to terminate the agreement and recall the player. Shirley that too is common sense?

Afobe should go back right fucking now!

The longer this twat fills a Bolton shirt he is denying a proper Bolton player a chance to play.

Mark Davies could play up front in his position for fucks sake.

What about Tom Eaves?? Oh yes that right we are going to loose him to Bristol because of Afobe.

And what about Holden when he comes back? How is he going to feel.

Since when have become a feeder club to the likes of Arsenal.

Shit,bollocks,wanker I say.

:D

What a crazy notion.

so, its alright for you to guess what is in or out of a contract, but not for others?

What you talkin' 'bout? I've not said anything of the sort.

Blixa and you seem to think a club can't have certain rules in a contract whilst I reckon it makes sense that they can do so.

As far as I can see we're all guessing, so shush your gums.
