I know, that's what I said. I suspect it would be illegal to dictate which players played to other clubs. On the other hand, the more hours could mean more players coming over. But doing that is very

  • Afobe should go back right fucking now!   The longer this twat fills a Bolton shirt he is denying a proper Bolton player a chance to play.   Mark Davies could play up front in his position for fuc

His header at Liverpool in the cup was one of the best headers you'll see though. Cracking goal.

I often mention this when folk slag him off.

He was lightening in the 6 yard box, he was unfit as opposed to shit.

Was going to mention Robert fleck.. I thought we'd hit the big time when he arrived.. how times change.. although I remember being reassuringly disappointed with him

Didn't he cost Chelsea over 2 mill in the very early nineties? Big money. They were good times though. Bolton on the rise. Thought the white hot team were untouchable in the cup and Wembley surely beckoned. It did soon enough.

I remember when we signed Simon Coleman which I think that was initailly on loan from Shef Wed, thought at the time and still to a certain extent that he was one of the best defenders to play for us, obviosly before he got injured.

Notable mentions also go to Florent Laville

John Newsome was a goodn.

Afobe has scored for the U21s.

Which was the point I was making.

Jardel was a phenomenal player when he had hunger for the game rather than for pies.

We got to see one of the greatest goalscorers of a generation... just a shame it was 2 years too late. He was simply one of those punts Big Sam liked to make. Some worked, many didn't.

Cid, however, was supposedly a player with a bright future.

best left back loaneee i can remember was ian bailey

cracking player for us

he then signed for sheff wed

broke his leg at our place week before a cup semi/cup final and the burnden paddock gave him dogs abuse

things don't change

Best left back loanee we've ever had is Vincent Candela or have I got big name memory fade and he wasnt actually that good?

Ill throw in Andy Cambell as a proper shit loan signing

Your second bit is correct

He was average (for us)

Nicky Summerbee was a shite loan signing in our promotion season.

Nicky Summerbee was a shite loan signing in our promotion season.

Remember him having one decent game for us that season, at home to Scunthorpe in the cup.

aye summat like that. we offered £65k, think they wanted £70k

yes thats £5K boys and girls. how times change

Almost, we offered 60K and he went to Fulham for 65K altho who knows want signing on fees bonuses were involved but I remember spitting blood that we couldnt raise and extra 5k to sign him.

IIRC he didnt do much at Fulham but thats because he didnt have crazy legs infront of him.

As I have seen to have inadvertently hi-jacked the thread, the first loan I remember was Andy May, and we couldnt sign him,

remember the buckets going round the terraces to try to raise cash for the David Lee signing after we got him on loan, wasnt Andy walker initially on loan ? Whatever happened to Chic "chainsaw" Charnley ?

And what was our first ever loan signing , Malc ?

Those calling Jardel shit obviously never saw Andy Kennedy play for us.

Worst loan signing was Peter Barnes, crocked after about 20 seconds and didn't play again! Jemson & Fleck were dogshit.

I always liked Stuart Storer, he was initially on loan from Everton. I also thought Isiah Rankin was going to be great for the first couple of games then he reverted to type

Barnes' last appearance was when substituted at bramall lane by Phil Neal, wasn't it?

He threw his shirt at Neal in disgust.

Barnes did two stints if I remember right, and played more in one than the other.

He was ace in the reserves.

Nobody in their right mind would deny that Jardel has been a great player but he was shit, and more or less without redeeming qualities by the time he came to us.

Worth a go as one of FSA's projects, but very much unsuccessful.

Andy Campbell, on the other hand...

Those calling Jardel shit obviously never saw Andy Kennedy play for us.

wasn't he subbed by andy walker at exeter

a millisecond later, walker scores

andy k was able to pack his bags

It was Mike Jeffery I think who came off - or thats who I have in mind.

Oh yes, did I imagine it too or did John Gregory have a very unsuccessful loan spell too? I seem to remember him being bloody awful in the game or 2 he played

Surely Jurgen Sommer has to be one of the worst loan signings ever?

1 game, and got fucking crocked half way though

and Tommy Wright in goal was a sad time, the old cunt couldn't jump

Michael Bridges

I know he wasn't on loan but it felt like it and I think of him when I think of Kennedy etc

think iv posted this story before

tesco next to the reebok

im at the cash machine getting impatient waiting for the guy infront to finish

was a good 3 or 4 minutes, kept putting his card back in and trying again.

anyway, he couldnt do what he wanted to do and lost it

starting kicking the wall and punching the cash machine and shouting at it

so i starts laughing like you would

guy turns round to see who is laughing

fuck me its mario jardel

complete nutcase

gregory played for us around the time of the abandoned grand national

think it was at mansfield and we got beat

nb the national wasn't at mansfield

I thought it was at Bristol Rovers, but all of that era seems a blur these days.

Think that game ended 1-1, sure Seagraves equalised in front of the away end, which was absolutely rammed
