Do any of you remember a lad of Indian descent who used to run with the Wanderers lads in the mid 1970's,initials MF ?

M still lives and works in Bolton, and very well known indeed, but stopped going to the match esp after a certain incident and being best friends with the accused

He's given me a whole stack of pictures and original newspaper cuttings from those days,i may upload some but some might not be in the best taste, and out of respect for others

one pic which may be ok to look at is available on Blackpool's Muckers site, section 'Darker Stories'....on that thread, scroll down to the end and there's a couple of acceptable pics from Bloomfield Road,1974

He looks a lot fatter in the face than I recall seeing on TV and in the papers. Who's he playing scrabble with?

anyone off here on the pic ?

MW - if you can find one from 9-5-82 - Sunday Express, featuring Alan Gowling being mobbed in a pitch invasion after a 3-1 home win over Sheffield Wednesday (which I recall kept us up), there are a few faces on that photo off here including yours truly. Thugs.

Where these really the casual hooligans choice of attire back in the day? This is a picture of a set of C***S laying into a Cardiff fan. Check out the platforms on the guy doing the kicking. One lad in the background is wearing one of them three star jumpers (stolen from Ivor job). Remember seeing those white Baker coats at Burnden adorned with Bolton badges. obviously lads had Saturday morning jobs on the wagons at Warbbies. Also remember the White baker pants some lads wore, these where hijacked by the Bay City Rollers and their girl followers, so the lads stopped wearing them. The 70's was the decade that fashion forgot. Come on then what was your terrace choice of attire back then?.

Didn't have a 3 star jumper but did have one with the stripes across, coupled with a penny round collar shirt and 3 button waistband bags. Never wore platforms to a match though.

Not at football but was on the receiving end of a kick identical to that at Aggy carnival mid 70's. Had a lad on the floor and last thing I remembered was seeing a platform shoe heading towards my head. When I came round a car had stopped and the lad was being held up on his tiptoes by this mountain of a guy. Spent the rest of the afternoon on the fair with a ripped jumper and covered in blood!

Bolty,i was on the pitch that day at Burnden. Ended up with Jim McDonagh's blue goalies shirt, sponsored by the BEN. It's been gathering dust in the wardrobe ever since

Just before my time, but saw most of them play. Never saw Roger Hunt play. met him at Ripon races a few years ago. Really smashing fella, had loads of stories to tell. Spent most of the day chatting on and off. Met him again sometime later in a village pub, he was with John Connelly a mutual friend and Rogers team mate in the 66 world cup finals. I quite enjoyed listening to them both talking about the good old days (before my time) and about Ramsey and Busby etc:. John played for United on the opposite wing to Best. He told me that Busby was not his favorite manager (in no uncertain terms). However they both couldn't speak highly enough of Sir Alf. John only played in the opening game against Uruguay, coming close when hitting the crossbar. Roger as we all know had a slightly better campaign. If you watched last nights BBC SP12 you may have seen John Connelly's name on the list of sportsman who we lost this year. OK not a former White but he did his bit for England. A bloody nice bloke and friend.

The red away kit was introduced in the late fifties, before that we had a yellow away kit

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
