Away Form

After watching the highlights to see how rubbish mears was again on Sky Sports website it came to my attention that we actually have the worst away record in the Championship. As a result did some number crunching as far back as Wembley as most people say thats when our slump started. Fair enough for the last 18 months our home form hasnt been good enough but away from home needs seriously addressing with only 2 wins at Wednesday and Blackburn.

League football Away

Played 35, Won 8, Drawn 6, Lost 21, Scored 45, Concided 76, Clean Sheets 1 (QPR),

Burnley have scored and concided exactly the same but have 4 wins, Next worst records are Bristol City and Barnsley, Hence why there in the bottom 3.

Cup Football isnt much better but at least theres been clean sheets along the way at Millwall and Aston Villa but 3 Clean sheets in total away in 20 months shows were we are going wrong.

On another note DROP MEARS! :@

and thats what i remind my bury wanker mates they cant take it

And as Satan pointed out...even the shit years in the 80's were eventful for those privy to see it ....

Wrexham

2 Wembley sherpa van finals

Relegation play offs

A few more relegations

Loads of pitch invasions ans boot offs.

Then before that it was two seasons in the top flight, doing the double on DMB,Worthy etc,Promotions, packed houses, league cup semi's v Everton and Bob Latchford etc etc.

Lifes not been dull for a Bolton fan since the 60's!

I bet there not many clubs of our stature can boast an value for entertainment such as our over the past 20 years.....

2 league cup finals,one semi.

2 Fa cup semi finals,a couple of quarters.

2 giant killing cup runs

4 promotions

4 play-off finals

1 lost play-off semi

2 season in Europe

4 relegations

...All worth ever single penny!

All fantastic occasions! Even the bad ones in a weird sort of way. If that makes sense?

I started going in 88 and since then only been a few lows as in relegations, compare that to some clubs alot bigger than us and done fuck all

I bet there not many clubs of our stature can boast an value for entertainment such as our over the past 20 years.....

2 league cup finals,one semi.

Absolutely spot on we have had an amazing 20 odd years, we just need DF to steady the ship and start climbing the league and get the positivity back.

i get the point coppull is making

he's spending a fortune and asking himself if he would be happier using his money otherwise

i've been to a few this season expecting a good day out/the odd win

the wins aren't forthcoming so the day out has to justify the ton plus spend

when it doesn't, i'd fcuk it off

folks who go through some sense of loyalty with no consideration of 'value' have more money than sense

imo

Edited by Casino

I go with that, for me and our lot its a group of guys who work hard all week and mix football with a good day out,if you want results then theres plenty of teams in north west where you can go imo.

iv been everywere but millwall, boro and Crawley this season. I could of had a cruise this year if i wanted to but iv stuck to my gunns and done the miles. The days out have been class! But the game is just a bag of nerves its horrible. Its never convincing or amazing. Even the wins have been edgey at Wednesday and Blackburn. Them stats iv posted show a a major part of our downfall. End of day we can't get a run of games together. 2 wins away from home from 13 is never going to get us promoted! Or even near the play offs, even if we had 2 more away wins n a few more draws it would of at least kept us in touching distance of the playoffs but its not good enough. I dont need folk tell me how to spend my money at the end of the day, iv been near 60 grounds n to Portugal in Europe watching Bolton and I love it. Iv done serious miles like many have. But performances need to start. We've shown our faith. So should the players

You're missing the point Coppull. I am sure that Aldershot have a supporter that follows them everywhere, spends a fortune and, some would argue, gets "short changed by the players".

Blind devotion is what it is. It doesn't guarantee you a successful winning ride. You know why you do it - you love it and you're petrified that the day you miss we'll win 8-0 away or summat and you'll regret not being there for years. I am still pissed off at missing a 2-1 away win at York City due to an inconveniently timed wedding day!

We are currently mediocre and you have to accept it. I have a hunch that DF will turn it around but not in the time frame that the impatients want. If he can spend a bit this month, I can see a marked improvement through to the end of the season and a cause for real optimism next season.

So basically what your trying say is stick with it, grin and deal with it, keep spending my hard earned money and fingers crossed Dougie will get it right...

Question Erm what if he doesn't? I'll give him chance no danger, coyle signed some Muppets and they are terrible and he needs his own blood n choice but will you stick it out still? is that what makes a Bolton fan a loyal fan? what if Dougie doesn't get it right, and then the next manager doesn't get it right and you keep sticking it out,

Is that not blind devotion?

Facts are facts, whether you like it or not unless performances dont start soon, fans like me who considering to cut bk n not bother as much because there thinking its a waste of time then fan numbers will drop. until them lads on the pitch get there heads out there arse this will happen, performances and good football bring crowds back in. Look at Peterborough and Leeds... We took a difference of what 500-1000 more to Leeds and why? Shit football and expensive tickets, money rules the roast and sence, we took nearly 4000 Wednesday and nearly 4000 to Huddersfield which are next door to Leeds, ill watch Bolton still but nowere near as much if this carrys on

I started going in 88

Glory hunter!

Going back to the OP.

I'd say our performances both home and away have been poor on the whole, rather than just our away form.

Agreed but away games are terrible, Reebok atmosphere is rubbish, away trips make the day out good but again terrible

Rochdale did 36 consecutive seasons in the bottom division between 1974-2010, they gained promotion in 2010 only to drop back down last season. They will be some poor buggers who have never missed a game in that period.

I understand some of what Coppul is saying and i dont want us to continue sliding but you take the rough with the smooth and dont just chuck the towel in after 10 fantastic years at the top. We will be back, whether in 36 seasons time or 2 seasons time.

Stop going then, until we improve. Simple.

Thats true

Remember when we went up in 1978

Fans singing 14 years and now were back do da do da; 14 years and now were back do da do da daa

Lets hope is 2 rather than the 36 seasons

I can see Coppul's point; the passion from the players at most away games this season that I have been has been awful - apart from Blackburn (didn't do Huddersfield or Sheff Wed) they have strolled through the games without putting a real shift in
