I've just had to pay my ex's bill (£250.97p) to Carphone Warehouse, I was stupid enough to trust her and put it in my name. Let that be a warning chaps, don't sign anything for anyone no matter what, it's a expensive price to pay.

I was once in a similar situation - I informed the phone company of the situation (cancelling the contract) said I was unable to pay the outstanding amount at that time (obviously a lie), then simply ignored the bills/threatening letters, eventually they settled for around 1/4 of the original cost.

... and that's how it should be. Things don't work out sometimes, but I would hope anyone would have enough respect to honour somebody that has put that trust in them.
