Winchester White Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Cheap Coop Malbec, schoolboy error. Quote
no balls Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Cheap Coop Malbec, schoolboy error. When you say cheap, how cheap? I'll not bother getting a bottle though if it's shite, I've still got some M&S left from buying in bulk. Quote
Winchester White Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 A fiver NB, I polished it off but won't be buying another. Quote
Bigtoe Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Trivento Malbec from Tesco £5.99; bargain I've had that, its a good un. Got an Italian Barbera D'Asti from M&S earlier. 6.49 on offer. In fact they had a gold medal red last week (french) on clearance for a fiver. Only had two bottles left on the shelf which i snaffled. Quote
stevieb Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Aldi Malbec back in stock for the first time in about 2 months in Manc Arndale. Got the last 2 bottles, almost worth the 65 fucking quid food shop with a 1 mile trek home! Quote
Winchester White Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Are there 2 Malbec's at Aldi? Only cos the one I tried wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be. I have just had a glass of Rioja with my meal at a pub - very disappointed as most Rioja's are good even the cheap ones. Quote

stevieb Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I reckon Argentinian Malbec is about as consisently decent red as there is I'm a novice at it but i would agree. Sainsburys fairtrade malbec at £8.50 is another good en. Seem to pay over the odds for a decent bottle rather than stooping under a fiver and taking a risk. I think thats a sign of being old isnt it! Quality not quantity Quote
no balls Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Yes one about £4 which is French and one which is £5.99 and Argentinian. I have got a friend coming round tomorrow night and theres five bottles of red to get rid of. The Argentinian Malbec is alright but it is probably going to be the last if we make it through them all. The others are reet posh Quote
