Bugger, no. Just got back from The Night Garden Live at the Trafford Centre - oh the joys! I might pop to the bottom one later to see if they have some in.

I've never really bothered with Red Until I went Portugal a few weeks ago, ended up having a glass with my tea every night

Can anyone recommend a cheapish, decent smooth red wine?

Malbec from Aldi would be a good start

Last time I pissed my trousers I'd been sampling a nice Rioja - there's a good wine stall/bar attached to a Market in Madrid that does dear stuff by the glass...Anyhow I had these jeans on that the zip had bust on - I'd improvised a fix out and about with a bit of a keyring, was dying for a piss and headed down a back alley, couldn't get the zip open in time and pissed mi pants...

I was very, very drunk.

Tried that and wouldn't recommend it as an easy starter. Far too oaky IMO

Depends what he's been drinking in portugal, some of the reds from the north can be full bodied and fruity with vanilla and oak .

I'm assuming he's not been hitting the Mateus Rose! :)

Bottle of Muriel Rioja in the Dee household. On offer at Aggy Co-op.

This 2008 reserva is on offer in H-town co-op now so may be in Aggy as well.

Good deal at Morrisons at the moment, Wolf Bass Shiraz down from £7.99 to £5.99 and another 25% off if you buy a case of 6. Maximum 6 cases per person. Equates to £4.49 per bottle.

Bought my full quota this weekend and used me neighbours 10% staff discount card thus bring it down to £4.02 when paying with me 0.5% off Asda credit card.

Really smooth decent red good for quaffing. Head was sore after sinking 3 whilst watching 3 episodes of Breaking Bad on Sunday evening :drinks:

Vinsobres 2011, a really nice silver medal red is in asda for 6 quid down from 10.50. Just picked a bottle up from middlebrook. Not normally a fan of French wines but this is a cracker.

At Sainsburys - McGuigan Shiraz £4.50 and Merlot was £5.20 (I think) - almost half price and there's loads as of this Afternoon - boxes of six up near the Butcher counter (in Bolton town centre).

They're a knockout!*.

* Or, at the very least, won't blind you.

Edit: That's not some sick reference to Young Ali BTW.
