Camelot Theme Park

Featured Replies

Didn't realise it closed down last year. Anyway, a few pictures here of the place taken a few weeks back (taken from another forum), amazing how quickly it starts to look decrepit as nature retakes over the land etc...

Went to an abandoned theme park with a friend for her birthday yesterday, was all kinds of awesome :o

Inside the Ghost Train. Was a shame the iPhone camera is a bit crap, the friend I went with is a proper photographer and got some seriously awesome shots but it was too dark for me:

Still climbing... This picture doesn't do it much justice, but it's just over 100 feet high, when you get about half way up the wind is ridiculous - It was absolutely pissing it down as well so I went back down without taking any pictures before I fell to my death

HBAHTs?

'All kinds of awesome', yeh it's a bit weird, It's just the pics I'm interested in though.

I'd love to get this 'Urban Exploring' lark, I find it fascinating. I always enjoy scouring the 28 Days Later site, some excellent pictures.

Mate of mine does it and is fucking superb, I'll throw a link up lter for you.

Are these from that UK underground forum? I went on there for what was intended to be a minute or two and ended up trawling it for hours! Some of those disused mental institutes and orphanages are "all kinds of creepy"!

Cream your knickers over this abandoned theme park. Blatant rip off of Disney but some quality photos in there.

Any abandoned fair ground worth its salt should have a bent caretaker and the Scooby Doo gang on his case.

I've got loads of photos of the inside of Blackpool tower before and during I worked on the refurb.

Was mad rattling round in there for a year or so,used to have dinner in the circus!

They still have all the giant cages they used to keep all the animals used in the circus in the basement, there's even a tunnel that connect the basement to the sea wall, where they used to take the lions and cheetahs out for a walk on the beach.

Up in the gods they still had the little midget village set up,where in the 50's/60's they had a family of midgets 'performing'.little midget petrol station and a pub etc....sounds like I'm making this up doesn't it.haha

I'll upload some pics later and one of you geeks can waz them over to 28 years earlier if you see fit.

Apparently the coaster at Camelot is destined for Egypt.  ITK, MMW, etc.

I always find it a little bit sad when things are allowed to sit there going to rack and ruin, the Midland Hotel in Morecambe for example.  Thankfully now that has been restored to its former glory though.

Gonzo, bit before your time but did you, or your old man, know a ginger bloke who used to paint the outside of the tower?

Used to drink in the Bispham, mad as a box of frogs but had some amazing photos from the top of the tower, and when I say the top I mean hanging on the lightning conductor!

Haha I'll ask him mate...he moved to Blackpool in 81 so may be even before his time!

My mate tried to climb he tower off his tits after benign thrown out of heaven and hell once.

Got on top of a bin outside and that was that.

Images of the fairground at Chernobyl are some of the most haunting pics around.  It was due to open just a few days after the disaster.

The morbid side of me would love to visit the area.

I'd not be buying any undies there though...

Was early to mid nineties. I'll see if anyone remembers his name when we're up there at the party tomorrow night.

Edit: Here you go, the guy lower down looks like him.

Who's took that photo and how?

Who's took that photo and how?

A trained seagull?

Another Blackpool mentalist (must breed 'em up there!). Thought it was photoshopped at first but look at the shadow and make your own mind up.

I could never do that, I'm terrified of heights. I would be clinging on for grim death, sobbing like a baby, if I was up there

No you wouldn't.  You'd be screaming, "GET ME DOWN FROM HERE.  GET ME FUCKING DOWN!"

Like when we were on that big wheel with Dad. :D
