Marriages

1 in 5 people would walk away from marriages if they were in a financial position to do so and 1 in 10 are in loveless relationships according to stats on Lorraine Kelly's programme this morning. Thanks to my love of football I've never been in one of these situations, but I'd of thought them stats were rather low, especially with the amount boning the WW's Dog does on POF and due to all these other dating websites what are full of naughty or lusting for love ladies. How times have changed :)

It must be grim to still be in a marriage purely because of finances  -  obviously once you have a mortgage together then their is a massive financial burden for both of you.

I've never been divorced, but I can only imagine that it's a right fucker dividing everything up once you split, especially if the house you own doesn't have a great deal of equity in it.

Having said that, I do know a couple of folk who have left their wives and pretty much walked away with nothing and had to start again from scratch, which is pretty tough to do when you're in your 40's   -  one of my mates left his Mrs last year, just walked away and let her keep the house and the car, as the house was in negative equity they couldn't sell it, so he just signed it over to her. He now lives in a little rented one bedroom flat in the centre of town, he pays £600 a month and that's every bill taken care of, and he has no other outgoings, so he has around £1500 per month to piss up the wall and do with what he wants.............he reckons he's never been so happy. (although I do suspect on occassion he is actually less than happy when he closes his door and realises that at nearly 50 years old he's got fuck all in his life now except work and the pub)

So 80% would stay in marriage's? That seems like its as strong as its been for a while.

A good way of judging this is by seeing how many times your mate says he's never been happier.

I always get the impression that people who need to mention it alot aren't necessarily telling the truth.

I got divorced 10 years ago and in some ways I'm still paying the price, financially.

I wish I'd had someone to guide me as I basically gave her the lot. A real whopper of a mistake.

fuck marriage

absolutely no chance

Worth doing if it's in negative equity I'd say, very wise move. Let him convince himself, it's better than him coming out with negatives and ruining your spare time :)

fuck marriage

absolutely no chance

Not even if Jenna Louise Coleman, Alison King or Kym Marsh ask nicely........

It's on a flatdick programme so it wouldn't suprise me if more respondents were those also, thereby skewing the results.

The men will have been having a morning wank or watching sky sports news, or multitasking.

.

We split the house 50-50 money wise. Then again, I've no sprogs.

I doubt I'll get married again.

Best thing I ever did

A few years ago our Maude said to me "wouldn't it be lovely if we re-newed our marriage vows" and i mistakingly replied

"are you fucking mad, if i knew then what i know now i wouldn't have done it in the 1st fucking place"

Honestly do not get this.

I thought the idea of marriage was for life.

The vows don't wear off after 10 years do they?

Can you see her growler on that photo?

You definitely can on this one.

Been with missus 10 years, not engaged or married

Cant see that changing, if it does it will be a registry office with 2 witnesses.

Honestly do not get this.

Me neither that's why it never happened and never will

It's a flatdick thing

My mum and dad did it in 06 because they didn't do it properly first time round..young and skint etc...

Now they could afford to throw a proper bash.

I had to do a best mans speech off my tits! Haha

Divorce is shit. Being with someone you don't love is shitter. Breaking the hearts of your children is shitter still.

In fact, there is not one good thing about any of it, its just a very sad situation.

I love my girlfriend, but anyone who says you walk out and all problems are solved needs to give their head a wobble.

As happy as me & Smiffs are, neither one of us would want to get married again, we just don't see the point nowadays.  It's a big enough commitment living together so if it ain't broke then why fix it?

My divorce last year cost me nearly £5k in solicitors fees which was absolutely ridiculous given the fact that the house was mine anyway (as I had previously bought him out) and we didn't have any children.  That reason alone is enough to put me off doing it again.

Me neither that's why it never happened and never will

It's a flatdick thing

Is it fuck as like

Is it fuck as like

Dead right it is, no sane man would ever suggest such a thing, you flatdicks still want romancing after 10, 20, 30 years or we're accused of "not loving you anymore" or "changing" Us men are happy just to plod along as normal, all that romantic shit is when we want to get into your knickers every chance we get, why do you lot not get that
