August 9, 201313 yr .. is going to be a massive restaurant. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/10601814.Massive_world_buffet_restaurant_to_open_in_former_Ikon_nightclub/?ref=mr
August 9, 201313 yr Author If they do rag pudding, Burt and Ernie will be all over it. I'll give it a bash seeing as it'll take me 30 secs to get there. Treat the bird as I'm romantic like that. I'd have thunk the overheads will be huge for such a big place though, so it's going to have to be busy pretty much every night of the week. It's not gonna happen. August 9, 201313 yr Massive buffet. How many buffets does the town need? I thought there was only one already, that Chinky near Argos. Traf, not been in town for years.
August 9, 201313 yr Not sure if it's still there, I sacked it due to low cleanliness rating. Russells is still open.
August 9, 201313 yr Leena Tandoori is a buffet these days I think. Over the road the old Chester Moonshines/Revolution is still swathed in 'Buffet King' logos, around six years after they ceased trading. It's such a depressing dump is town, I no longer depress myself further by visiting it - at all. Why've The Sweet Green changed their sign btw, it looks really shite and tacky? August 9, 201313 yr on the subject of town centre fine dining, Rice'n'Three reopening on Bradshawgate later this month about 3 doors down from the Balmoral which I'm sure they chose for that very reason
August 9, 201313 yr You'd think the clientele who frequent The Balmoral are the ones who eschew food in favour of liquid nourishment. I'd wager there's more than one pair of 'no-food all day' bitter-shitten underpants in the toilet cisterns of that pub.

I walked past the Wetherspoons at 9am Monday morning last week Bloke outside smoking, talking on his mobile. Overheard him arranging a meeting-up at Balmoral at 11am Makings of a class all-dayer there
August 9, 201313 yr I'm glad I live over here, there's no shortages of feeding places Anyhow, Ritzy, happy memories, I'd not want to go in and see it again so they're not ruined
August 9, 201313 yr What if DJ Jason is still spinning tunes? DJ VJ in his Central Park days. Is spin the bottle going to be part of the restaurants plans?

Overheard him arranging a meeting-up at Balmoral at 11am Makings of a class all-dayer there Disgraceful There was once a time, if you wanted a drink before midday in town, your only option was to go to 'La Rochelle' and order a pint with something to eat.
August 9, 201313 yr on the subject of town centre fine dining, Rice'n'Three reopening on Bradshawgate later this month about 3 doors down from the Balmoral which I'm sure they chose for that very reason Why do people rave about Rice and Three. It's mainly rice and hardly any three. Really quite expensive for what you get. Unless you love rice of course!
August 9, 201313 yr Leena Tandoori is a buffet these days I think. Ma, he's makin' eyes at me! That's probably just for the over 45s amongst us.
August 9, 201313 yr You sick b*stard - I doubt all you can eat was her thing! And I'm well below 45 too - but my parents were 'old' and liked 'variety' so...

I'm don't overly rate the Rice and Three combo, it's alreet and authentic - but their Kebab Sandwiches, chargrilled Seekh Kebabs on freshly done Naan Bread, salad and sauces including lemon juice and tamarind, are a snip at £2 (or is it £2.50 now?)

Their kebab (sandwiches) are amazing.
