Real English patriotism comes to the fore when there's a World Cup or European Championships... All this "Why don't we make a celebration of St George's like the Yanks with Thanksgiving, the Paddies with St Patrick's and the Jock with Burn's Night?" - because it's bloody un-British (and, by default, un-English) to do so, that's why. We're not prone to mithering others like the aforementioned mithering c*nts - we keep our own counsel.
