Heard a West Ham on the radio the other night and was interesting to hear his views on Nolan.

 

When asked about their skipper's upcoming 3 match ban he said he's actually glad because now he's stopped scoring goals he contributes NOTHING to the team. Said he's very cute in the way he goes about doing nothing in that he will always follow the ball when the opponents pass back to the keeper (even when he's no chance of intercepting). He'll then do a backwards jump in a vain attempt to block the ball. When the ball is then inevitably cleared forwards he just ambles back whilst his teammates battle for the ball for him.

 

In summary, he pretty much said when he's scoring goals everything's fine, but when he's not scoring he's a passenger that the team can't afford to carry.

 

It all sounded rather familiar.

Nolan is a Bolton legend. Scored some amazing goals and featured in one of our greatest ever sides. The last true wanderer to play for the club in my eyes.

Would welcome him back any time

Nolan was a proper Wanderer and the knobs who got on his case ( you know who you are) are a total embarrassment

He played a huge part in alot of great Bolton memories for me, fucking love the guy.

Perhaps none as sanctimonious as those that wouldn't have an established Premiership performer back at us in the lower mid reaches of the Championship

I'd like him back, he's plenty good enough for this division. He's not coming back though, so it's a moot point really

I was never a big Nolan fan really - didn't dislike either, just found him to be a run of the mill midfielder who happened to score a few goals but contribute little else. I suppose he was a poor mans David Platt.
