Wanderersways Christmas Quiz

As there's been no Saturday football of great interest, I've set a 10 question quiz. Others things being equal, answers will be confirmed late on Boxing Day. And yes, one prize is available.

Q1: What did Bolton Wanderers do in the FA Cup in the 1880s which no other club has done since, nor ever will (although Nottingham Forest almost did so by 1922)?

Q2: Which team has played several FA Cup finals with 2 Captains in their team?

Q3: Which was the first FA Cup winning team to field capped players from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?

Q4: Which clubs contested the only FA Cup tie to be contested on Christmas Day?

Q5: Which was the first City club to play in the FA Cup?

Q6: Which was the first United club to play in the FA Cup?

Q7: Which was the first Lancashire club to reach an FA Cup semi-final?

Q8: Name the last 5 FA Youth Cup winning players to go on to represent Bolton Wanderers.

Q9: Name 5 FA Youth Cup finalists from earlier this century to go on to represent Bolton Wanderers.

Q10: Name at least 5 FA Youth Cup finalists from the 20th century to go on to represent Bolton Wanderers.

Agreed,

Using google to answer football trivia questions is the equivalent to being wanked on by many men.

If you don't know...try and work it out,

If you can't work it out,let someone else have a go.

Q8) ostembor, O'kane

At what level did the FA Youth finalists have to represent us?

10. Ryan Baldachino played for us and was in Blackburn's winning team in 90's.

You love google.

Excuse me?

John O'Kane was in that Munich class of 92, wasn't he?

And would David Thompson have been in any of Liverpool's successful teams in the 90's?

Cheat

No. 1 : Completed the record of playing clubs from England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales in the FA Cup ?

Looking back at players from local clubs who came through the ranks gives us the likes of Spearing, Eagles, Sturridge, Boyata, Weiss, O'Kane, Otsemobor etc

Did any of them ever win the FA Youth Cup?

Did Gary Cahill play in it for Villa?

Cheat

Quick update:

Q1:

No. 1 : Completed the record of playing clubs from England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales in the FA Cup ?

Almost, but not quite. When Nottingham Forest went to Cardiff in 1922 they also complated this set. But Bolton's had an extra factor.

Q2:

No.2 I'm guessing Royal Engineers?

Correct - their was a clue, in that the question said Captain rather than captain.

Q7:

Q7: Blacburn Olympic ?

No. Blackburn Olympic were the first Lancashire winners (1883), but not the first semi-finalists.

Q8, Q9, Q10:

Most of the names bandied about fit in somewhere, but there are plenty more - some more obvious than others.

Zat Knight isn't one though - he joined Fulham from Rushall Olympic, who never reached  such heights.

Q7 Darwen?
