Now, Am I Being Overtly Insensitive?

Right, so missus was out last night at a press do. Y'know working but getting pissed up until silly o'clock. So I call this lunchtime to see if she's still alive or the hangover is killing her. Aside from being a glorified travel booker for C list celebs seems it is.

so, I ask how the night went, fine she said, loads of my old contacts say hi etc But there was one woman who thought I hated her. Surprised I said oh, no she's really nice. So I asked why, and it appears I locked her out of a hotel room when she was piddled out of her gourd years ago.

Now, without I thinking I just blurt out, oh, yes I remember - that was really because I was knocking about with an ex in that room. The ex and my mrs knew each other before I knew either of them (Scotland it appears is very small)

Cue massive pause.....and oh....and then bye, see you later....phone dead.

Try and call back, not answering etc

get an email at last saying, I just missed you that's all and I don't want to talk about her.

Now given that this thing happened couple of years before I met my partner, should it really matter? Have I got to grovel hugely when she gets home (not sure why mind) and I'm I just being insensitive?

Personally I think she's hungover and grumpy to fuck but women, sometimes I just don't get it.

Suck up ??? What am I reading !?!

People are suggesting you act all sorry, for having a past !!!

She needs to get a grip.

Where's this site going wrong... Page 2 and nobody has asked HBAHT and were you performing a Cleveland Steamer when disturbed?

Hope all is now well Crawley.

I would like to take this opportunity to suggest you don't ever refer to her as your 'partner' again though.

Anyone who uses that word immediately is assumed to be a gay unless their gender is mentioned in the same sentence.

I once had a dream that my girlfriend was having an affair with Roger Federer. I've had an irrational hatred for ever since.

Hopefully this will help?

Must admit, I sometimes refer to my kids' mum as "my partner". We're neither married nor engaged, and referring to her as "my girlfriend" seems a bit daft considering we've got 2 kids.

Agreed.

Well, it wasn't the brightest thing to say, admittedly!

I shall keep such thoughts of indignation very quiet.

Kent, yes pissed, soused, sloshed, mortal etc etc etc

It's playing with fire NIC. They compete with each other for everything and if there's a link with another flatdick, no matter how tenuous, they'll go off on one for sure and certain. If you do chat to an ex, either on social media, at a party or work function, never, ever mention it.

Petty as fuck I know but, the older you get, the wiser you get. Learn by this experience. What they don't know, they can't fucking moan about.

Wise words.

There are some things I'm not sharing with the group.

That'll be a no then. :)

Fucks sake!!!! You have done nothing wrong. She has! If she takes the hump over something that happened in the past, then she takes the hump. Bollocks to her!

She should be apologising with chips and a blowjob!!

Exactly. I don't understand all this shite advice about pandering to her. My mrs had a similar episode a few years ago when my mates' gobshite wife told her what I'd got up to on a lad's holiday - 7 or 8 years before I even met her. She behaved as though it had happened a week earlier. Told her to get fucked, and a few days later she realised what a cunt she was being and apologised.
