anewman Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 I have a paypal account but what details do folk need? Quote
Sweep Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I think they only need to know the paypal "address" to send the money to. They would also have to make sure any money is sent as a "gift" I think, otherwise Paypal will take a percentage of it. Traf would know about this I think as he's mentioned the "gift" bit before Quote

Traf would know about this I think as he's mentioned the "gift" bit before Jay, All people need is the email address linked to your paypal account. When folk try to send you money, they can either send it as a paypal payment or as a paypal gift. The fees are 20p per transaction plus 3.4% (IIRC) of the donation, so the fees on £10 are 54p. Sent via paypal, a tenner would come to you as £9.46 To make sure you got a tenner, we'd have to send £10.60 approx or £10 va paypal gift and we pay the fees at our end. It's actually far simpler than I've just made it sound. Quote

SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 so what are you saying? Give people your email address (the one you use for paypal) and tell them to send it as a gift. Quote

anewman Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Greeting friends, many of you know Alan Parkin most commonly known as "packy" and you will know about his accident at Bournemouth away on 2nd November, you may recall I put a few pictures on of his injuries, anyway it's been 3 months now and he's still in recovery and not fit for work and given the time of year I've decided to have a whip round to help him get by. I have a paypal account which is jaywanderer@hotmail.co.uk if you good people would like to help out. Many thanks Jay. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Should of asked the guy who flattened him, sure he was in pub at reading according to 1 of the lads. In fairness to the guy who was responsible, someone who knows him came to talk to me before Wigan away, he says his mate was gutted & by no means meant it intentionally, knowing the consequences of Paki being off work through it, he said if there was a whip round to help him out, he would be more than happy to put something in. It clearly was an accident in the throws of celebration & I told him the best person to talk to was Jay. Quote
