Whizz Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Yes a full time job plus a pro gig. He wouldn’t of been able to do any other work while at Lancs other than a bit of coaching at clubs as a guest. Quote

MickyD Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 An under 15s Lancs trial tomorrow an Bradshaw. Quote
cricketingwhite Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Can’t say I’m excited at the prospect of a double header in the PS. Could do with a re-think this comp Quote
MickyD Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Same with NKO and LKO. Bradshaw have been drawn at home throughout but, whilst it probably makes a few quid on the bar, it also piles pressure on ground staff to keep preparing wickets. Quote
Horwich Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Little Hultons pro batted really well yesterday against us. Quote
MickyD Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Bradshaw played Daisy Hill and Darcy Lever this weekend in Peter Stafford. Do teams put weakened teams out at this level or were both teams really that poor? Quote

MickyD Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 Or Darcy Lever's seconds yesterday at the Rigbys. They also didn't eat the ham butties. Quote
DazBob Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Bradshaw 2s bowled over 50 wides on Saturday. Crikey. Quote
MickyD Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Standard of umpiring is very poor at the moment. A few seem to give LBW on loudness of appeal rather than where ball pitched and player position. Others seem to give one LBW every third appeal. Another thing; if all eleven players go up to appeal an LBW, it's nothing but cheating. How can a player stood on the boundary at square leg appeal an LBW other than he heard the ball hit the pad. Umpires should be warning teams for over-appealing. The Laws state that no player can be given out without the fielding side appealing. This shouldn't mean appeal everything. Quote

Problem is, Bradshaw 2s is very much an introduction to senior cricket at Bradshaw. They very much believe that the older juniors ought to be given a chance. As an aside, they also fell foul of a double-jeopardy when, due to the number of extended overs because of the bowling, they were docked overs from their innings. So they lose points for the bowling then lose the chance to recoup the points when batting. For the record, I reckon that a normal number of extras; say around 20, and it really would have been game on. Quote
DazBob Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Do Bradshaw not have a third team? No leg side wide rule at that level so helps the younger lads who are bowling. Quote

Played at Kearsley on Saturday, we had at least 3, if not 4, really bad LBW decisions go against us. Not only the standard, but the number of umpires seem to be reducing every year at an alarming rate Quote

Nowt to do with bad umpires. Quote

Some daft ways of getting out from a couple of our lads, so I’m not blaming any umpires, it was just a comment about the inconsistency of them. Was a good competitive game. Contentious decisions will balance themselves out over the season I’m sure 👍🏻 Quote
