  • Everyone was above us except Blackpool when Lenny took over

  • indeed   but we dont need to be the best   we need to be sixth   i did say that this was potentially an easier run of games as we'd played most of the top teams when lennon took over but cardiff

On the other hand, our run of fixtures until we Play Derby away on the 7th Feb couldn't have landed much better with the difficult matches in the run all coming at Home

Mark Davies is quality he does not lose the ball because he is tidy in possession and is a quality passer of the ball, a poor mans Paul Scholes at the end of his career if you like, the best 2 players at the club are LCY and Mark Davies in that order no one else comes close to those 2. I am happy to go with whatever position Lennon thinks is best for him but I don't see him putting him further up the pitch for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

I was being deliberately over pessimistic, the real positive for me is how Lennon without ripping everything up and blaming the last lot has improved the team so dramatically.

Given results hard to question Lennon, but Spearing in for Feeney and Mavis a bit wider for me improves the team.

Mavis deep scares me for reasons you give.

but means you dont have the pace out wide that feeney gives

pratley/clayton and feeney have the job of supporting davies

its currently working very well

i dont see any reason to change it

unless davies gets injured - pretty much like his namesake before his legs went, craig has suddenly become a big part of what we do

if he does get injured, it would be good to have diouf in reserve

As I said hard to criticise Lennon.

I just do not understand the Spearing situation, he was poor at Norwich but at Brum and Brentford looked good.

Danns and spearing feels more solid than Danns and Mavis to me. Feeney scored 2 v Cardiff and an assist v Wigan so hard to drop him.

Interesting next week if Pratley comes back in or not, could play him right and clayton left.

Spearing may be a better tackler than Davies. However his distribution is awful. We keep position better when Davies plays. Although I thought some of Davies defensive work against Wigan was top draw. Not last ditch tackles but cool head in and around the box when under pressure. He'll find a white shirt. Were as others will panic and slice a clearance straight to the opposition putting us back under pressure.

I really think Spearings dropped because his ball retention and his passing are so poor in comparison to Davies, yes he flys in to a challenge but more often than not he has caused the problem in the first place, Lennon knows his stuff Spearing has to shape up.

Thought he was carrying a hamstring?

i thought today was grimmer than grimsby, but ten points is nowt

if it could be 6 at the end of january, we'd be in a great spot

With 27 games to go...

Top 6 is on especially if we can sign some quality in January. Exciting times once again.

thought sfield's heads went down as soon as we scored and pretty much stopped being a threat.

End of January we will know more, we may have strengthened the squad and will hopefully be in a better position after the 9 matches.

I'd love us to get in the play offs from where we were though but despite our form we aren't leaping up the table.

We're not leaping up in places terms but that does not matter, what matters is the gap between us and 6th and that's getting smaller.

as is the gap between us and top

as is the gap between us and top

I'm not even considering top.

It's certainly a great run and exciting again. Will be interesting to see how we fair when we start playing Derby, Boro, Watford, Forest etc again though. December is a great chance for us to push on.

its a good point

we've still only beat 2 teams above 17th

I get the feeling that Lennon isn't planning on hanging around in the Championship for too long. He said after the game that he was frustrated that other teams around us had won today and that we weren't further up the table. I don't think we're anywhere near top six material yet but that might change if he can pull some strings in January.

I don't think we're anywhere near top six material

We hammered Brentford and made them look poor.

We are definitely one of the in form sides, I just hope we can carry this through until the end of the season.

2 points per game average (that we are above under Lennon) puts us on 75 at end of season. Dreamland I know.

Brentford just won 5 on the bounce too

We'll hammer them worse next time.

16 from 8?

Says play offs, but, as everyone says, let's see against the teams higher than us

The 5 teams above us in the league today all won yesterday. Assuming we do see player movement in Jan the important thing will be getting those incoming players integrated playing catch up we can not afford a settling in period.

I think we are not good enough and need a lot to be good enough, be delighted to be proved wrong though.

Up 5 places in 8 games.

We'll finish in the top six, then.
