Puzzled me this, in the Spurs v Everton game the scousers are wearing an all black kit, it must clash with the Yids shorts Yet a few years ago even Bolton played away games when they had to change shorts so it would not clash with the home team.

You rarely see a mixture of home and away kits any more. However i don't understand why some teams play in their home kit when they play other teams away from home and then the next season, they use their away kit for the same fixture. Who decides these things? As for goalkeepers, why do they have to wear their own unique kit? They used to just wear a different top.

If the club are selling away kits, it makes sense to wear them.

 

Otherwise, as parents, we're buying stuff for our kids that they never see their heroes wearing.

Or in our case, dont have a blue away kit in a division where loads of teams have a blue and white striped home kit( Wigan, Sheff Wed, Huddersfield, Brighton, Reading and t'Rovers off the top of me head)

Just consider Bolton having a royal blue away shirt; not beyond the impossible; and we were playing Blackburn. We wouldn't be able to play in either shirt so would need a third shirt.

Since when did stripes clash with plain shirts? Teams never used to change into a second or third kit if their shirts were the same colour as the opposing teams stripes.

I understand the kit si£uation. But I did like the time when the only change was when the shirt, shorts or socks changed because of a clash. Red top, navy shorts and whit socks was a my personal favourite combo.

I can recall Bolton playing at the Reebok against Newcastle wearing an all white kit and the geordies playing in the usual home strip.
