Knee Ligaments

pissed up Saturday night I challenged my mate, who is a semi pro ufc fighter, to get out of a headlock. He floored me within ten seconds.

Anyway, been a+e and its suspected ligament damage. Had to go again today as my foot wasn't getting any circulation. They won't scan it until Monday because of the swelling but apparently the lack of circulation is a sign ive fucked it a good un.

So wise old fruits, how long am I looking at. Can't get an answer out of the doctor and getting mixed information off google.

I reckon you're looking at amputation unless you follow little whits usual advice of rubbing it with a bloon

I did mine on 21st November.  I honestly thought I'd dislocated my knee and had to stagger 1/2 mile through London.  Not one person helped me.  I didn't want to ruin my mates do so stayed in the apartment with frozen peas on it.  Got train back to Manchester the day after in agony.  I figured Bolton A and E on a Sunday night would be better than one in London on a Saturday.  I couldn't bend it for first two weeks.  Was housebound for most of December.  Only started feeling confident enough without crutches two weeks ago.  Had a Wedding Saturday and wore heels for the first time in ages and I'm regretting it now.  The cold seems to get to it to.  Oh and it creaks when I go up any stairs.  I'm falling to bits!

I had knee arthroscopy middle of January for torn cartilage and removal of crap floating around and general shaving of meniscus and I was back dad-dancing by last Friday.

They will need to give you an MRI scan to see for sure what it is because at the moment it will be all swollen and hard to tell. If it is ligament the could be six months or more depending on which ligament and how severe.

Brilliant.

Exact same feelings of dislocation! Can't bend it at all. Was hoping to be back in work next week....

Don't be daft pal, first thing I did was run it with a bloon.

Brilliant.

Not a chance!!  On a positive note though you can probably play on it and get people waiting on you hand and foot.

They didn't offer me a scan, which has surprised a few people that have had similar.  I just got an Xray.  It still doesn't feel right now.  But if you stick to your exercises it really does make a difference.  Little Whitt lent me an exercise bike which I think has helped greatly.

6 month off work?

Mine was the ligament on the inside of my knee but was ok(ish) after about 9 weeks.  Not sure about the recovery time on the others.

Suppose i wont know anything until ive had this scan then. Bloody painful injury though. Convinced I'd broken a bone or two.

Off Litle Whitt you say..

Did it have a Dildo as a saddle?

20 odd years since I did mine & I'm still not right & walk like I need calipers.

Ha I did have my reservations, but no!

Did mine playing football last May. Nearly 2 weeks before I could properly bend my knee. Still hurt like hell for a couple of months after. Should have had it looked at, but didn't. Not played football since. But that's only because I'm not totally convinced my knee will stand up to the rigors of a match. Career ending injury?

As a fellow semi-cripple, I don't fancy your chances.

Have you had a bad knee?

Did mine and my cartilage a couple of years back.

I just ran it off and didn't moan about it at all.

BET YOU WONT DO THAT AGAIN

Both of my knees went at the same time and my legs fell off. I just got on with it and grew a new pair. Only had one day off work (which I took as holiday)
