  • Surely everybody goes to Horwich for eating out?

  • Correct, Micky. Not too long ago, you could go in a pub and get burger, chips and a pint for about £5-£6 Now it's £20 and the beer is cloudy and tastes sour, whilst the burger comes on a bit

Cheap shite vodka gives me horrible hangovers, I would rather pay more for the decent stuff.

Adlington one opens this weekend. Looks smashing

Be having a venture up to see that soon, im fond of t'other place.

I had my 50th in there a few weeks back, the lamb was superb and the family seemed to enjoy the dangling skewers. Can get really busy in the bar area mind

Went last night for a trial run (everything free). The décor is super, they have done a really good job. The chef has been working for the retreat for the past 18 months so the quality of the food is still top notch.

We are there for tonight's soft launch. Sounds good, Glenn.

We are having to pay for drinks, though.

Just been to the opening night at the new Retreat restaurant in Bromley Cross. The lay out of the restaurant is very similar Adlington.... Food excellent and I think it will be a success like the other two restaurants.

A couple of people were raving about the seabass risotto! Had the lamb shank which was excellent.

I haven’t tried everything, so I just don’t know.

best food I’ve had in Bolton?

Bistro 341 in Egerton

But Retreat, BX is a very nice environment and decent fodder.

:) sounds good then.

It's the missus's birthday soon, so might try somewhere different.

B/X & Egerton have quite a choice of eateries at the moment  with 2 Italians, 341 Bistro & The Cross Guns , which is reputed to be very good but a bit expensive, in Egerton & an Indian & The Retreat in BX. .... there's also a craft ale bar for beardys.

Also The Railway just re-opened and is very good.

i second the Railway, one of the best burgers i've ever had. bit pricey though.
