Though I think sanctions and the threat of more may also have played a part.

Daft thing is, the sentiment behind the letter was absolutely fine.

The language was woeful.

Not sure what else would stop turkey from shelling the fook out of them.

As long as needed to ensure it wouldn't kick off if they were taken out.

America put them there in the first place.

But, as I’m sure you already know they have been fighting for centuries. They’ve continued fighting why America have been there, so to stay there to ‘ensure it wouldn’t KO’ is utter bollocks as it’s been happening for years.

America did put them there so surely it’s up to America to take them out?

Nothing to dispute there, but, as a military man, it would stick in your craw somewhat, if someone you'd fought alongside did something like that.

Can understand how the Kurds feel.

Probably mixed emotions, some sympathy for the lads and lasses that they’ve fought alongside and some relief that they’re getting to go home. 

Nothing worse the fighting for something that will never get sorted. (See Northern Ireland and the massive parts of the Middle East)

Say this Brexit deal gets agreed as is. How likely do you think it will be that it will kick off on NI again? I've not got an agenda with this question - just interested in what your thoughts were given your time in the forces?

It’s never stopped over there, obviously it’s calmed down a hell of a lot but there’s still a lot of them still at it. 

Regards it getting worse after BREXIT I’ve absolutely no idea.
