I get why his team are targeting it - low unemployment there, boosted local economy, issues about immigration - MN being a major resettlement for immigrants.

Whilst I agree that there are some in the EU with ideas of grandeur there is no way Turkey is joininh the EU any time soon, certainly not our lifetimes.
