  • I didn't see anything on social media as I don't have a load of pricks on any of my accounts.

If this is true, it smacks of utter desperation and a new low to gain valuable votes for remain.

There are no depths to which they won't stoop, so this is hardly a surprise.

There is no depths they will plumb to achieve their goal making political gain from this poor ladies death just sums up where the remain campaign and the Labour Party and there new found allies in Cameron and Osborne are, gut wrenching.

You are really paranoid about all of this. Can't they just remember her in the way they feel fit without the mud slinging?

Very convenient to arrange this on a Thursday night of all days, in that London. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to hold it in her own constituency and MPs travel there to show their commient and solidarity to the cause? Also given the timing on the eve on the biggest ever political referendum the country is par taking in shouldn't Cameron and co's attention/efforts be diverted first and foremost elsewhere?

This is very obviously a cheap tactic to further the Remain cause and who ever has given the green light for it to happen and done so knowingly.

It would have been her birthday wouldn't it?

I think you're reading too much into this. Do you honestly think her hubbie would allow this event to be deliberately politicised?

Do the Brexit lot think this event will cause people to change their minds and vote remain?

They are aren't they, with the recall of Parliament on Monday.

A memorial service AFTER the vote would avoid any potential accusations of attempting to make political gain out of her murder.

Do the Brexit lot think this event will cause people to change their minds and vote remain?

Me thinks so

I don't know what to think or believe when it comes to this referrendum any more. Both Remain and Leave have made me even more cynical in recent weeks.

Me thinks so

I v rarely use social media these days but I logged into fb today to seevthe reaction to all this. As predicted her name and views are being written into essays and shared galore and asking to vote in what she believes in. The politicians may not have used (not yet) but social media users have certainly hijacked the unfortunate incident to their advantage.

even though 99.9% of them had never heard of her a week ago.

well he was an advisor to Gordon Brown.

That's a little disingeneous Malc. You could say that about 99.9% of MPs but the tragic events have thrust her demise into the spotlight.

What has that got to do with it? His wife has been murdered in cold blood and her family and friends want to pay their respects, i struggle to understand why you think there is a sinister hidden agenda.

I'm sure you could name 40 Labour MPs, and I'm sure she would not have been one.

I do recall watching her maiden speech, but I could not recall her name.

I have the utmost sympathy for him, and I'm sure the Daily Mail won't be raking up their past story about him anytime soon.

I was referring to the general public's knowledge of MPs though i have to admit i would struggle to name 40. Some don't even know who their own MP is.

Did I hear right before? The main opposition parties won't contest her seat but bnp have decided to do so?

Fuck me that's a low shot if true.

As mentioned she was a local MP for me so I did know who she was, although like most I know very little about her.

The memorial is being held on her 42nd birthday, her views are being publicised because she has been murdered doing her job, on the streets of this country, I am sure her family would rather have the situation where none of this had happened.

We had family over at the weekend, my nieces go to school in her constituency and both knew her as had visited their school on a regular basis, she was just a genuine nice woman.

Funny how Corbyn is appalled by the murder of the MP - shame he didn't express as much sorrow for Rev Robert Bradford, Airey Neave and Ian Gow when they were murdered by the IRA instead he decided to cosy up to Sinn Fein/IRA......

He might have done but back then he was a nobody banging Diane Abbot so who would have listened?

My nieces school are singing at the memorial.

Last time an MP was killed, the seat was contested and his party lost.

If this was really an attack on democracy then not contesting the seat is a terrible response.
