Dat Dare London

Featured Replies

I was originally going to travel there and back for the Dons game, however considering the price on the train I'm contemplating a stop over, and taking Doris and the non footballing kid...

Any recommendations on where to stop, considering I need to get to the match whilst keeping them entertained?

airbnb?

Will I be able to cram anything touristy into the morning before? We'll have all Sunday to kill.

Cheers

I recently stayed at Hotel Indigio at Aldgate/Tower Hill. It's a 5 min walk to the Tower of London, a few more mins to south bank and a few good boozers near by with St Catherine's dock close by too

Decent hotel, good location - I will stay there again no problem

Hotel Z opposite Victoria is good. Plus you get free wine every night!

Virgin trains have flash sale on at moment. I had a Sunday afternoon to kill a couple of weeks ago. Bought a hop on bus pass and saw all touristy stuff plus got a free boat ride down the Thames. It's great value.

This free wine, how far does it extend? Into a glass or two, or as much as you can drink before you urinate into the potted palms in the foyer and collapse into the reception desk (with your pants down)?

Premier inn. Kingston. Cheap as you will find. Close to the ground and great for boozing/eating as well as other stuff.

If you want swanky the Shangri-La at the Shard is different gravy

We got a 1 bed flat in the middle of Brixton for £65 a night. Right close to all the nightlife and markets and also to the tube.

Can't recommend Air BnB highly enough

Stayed at the hotel z near Leicester Square, small rooms but also hammered the free wine and cheese. Great service, I'd stay there again.

Judging by the state my mum and dad were in when I met them after work for dinner. Yeah, you can have as much as you want.

Good value I think as well.

Its Premier Inn Kingston for me, looks decent area etc.

Going with MrsD next weekend as we take advantage of Virgin's £10 sale. Staying at Hilton in Canary Wharf.

Just had a look at various theatre prices. She's not into anything that requires thought but likes music but not musical theatre. So I looked at The Motown Story and The Jersey Boys and that type of thing.

Fucking hell! £100 each!!! Am I just being a tight fisted fucker?

Hilton at Canary Wharf is ace; get on the boat to the West End, I think

Isn't there a cheaper on the day ticket booth in Leicester Square?

I'll take a look. Cheers. Boat to West End looks good.

PM Crawley - he'll know what's decent and where to get cheapies if they're available. Failing that - I'm sure there will be a turn on at Tonge Moor Cricket Club.

My missus and daughter do that there smoke every August for three days. They try to do a matinee and an Evening performance. She wanders down to Leicester Square late morning and sees whats being offered at various ticket booths.

Spent a fcuk fortune when I took the family there for 3 nights a couple of years ago.

Good for the kids mind to learn about their Country.
