You're allowed to listen to more than 1 artist a year.

Eh?

I think I misunderstood. Are you saying this video is from a festival, and Noah and The Whale were on another stage during this set?

I wasjust saying in a typically snobbish indie way that I was amazed that in that nu folk thing people were buying stuff like Noah and the Whole and lord help us Mumford and Sons and not this so much. Although I do think Laura Marling is really talented.

Also Mackenzie Crook loves his folk. Had the amazing The Unthanks on WG.

So I didn't misunderstand. You're saying that people who listened to Noah and the Whale or Mumford and Sons in 2013 couldn't also be listening to Johnny Flynn? As though everyone is restricted to listening to one artist per year... Are people allowed to like Fleet Foxes, or are they also too mainstream?

I've never listened to Noah and the Whale, and I only like 1 Mumford song. It's this specific performance:

Blimey you prickly sod. I was just saying that I was surprised Mumford and Sons sold arenas and not many people bought A Larum. People can like what the hell they want. One artist a year? What are you on about?

Some people are going crackers during lockdown I swear to god.

😄 You worded it as though anybody listening to something else couldn't possibly be listening to Johnny Flynn too.

"And to think people were listening to Noah and the Whale rather than Johnny Flynn!".

I was amazed one was so popular, whilst one wasn't. I was simply ruing the vagrancies of popular music and mainstream tastes in one briefly fashionable genre of guitar based poptasticness as a throwaway aside.

Do you have an argument-a-day rule on here as part of your subs? Are you a big fan of whales? Have shares in a waistcoat company? Fight your own bloody shadow at times.

I couldn't name a single Noah and the Whales song. It doesn't matter mate. I was just having a poke at your self-confessed snobbishness.

Mumford and Sons are shit, if it helps you 2 calm down a bit.

It’s ace that.

I need that guitar. Lovely sound to it.

Been trying to learn that. It's a bit of a bastard. Keep leaving it and coming back to it months later.

I’d say they are a big bag of wank. Quite possibly the biggest

Why? Hope you've had a nice sleep and woke up refreshed and in a better mood.

Personally I'd say old cheese was having an argument with himself.

I know they're shit. Bag of smelly shit. Unlike Johnny Flynn.

If Cheese gets wound up about calling a low rate indie band a bit poo, the days have got to drag.

It is a bit fiddly, although it's lovely to play once you've got a handle on it. Nicely satisfying, its been nice in lockdown to play guitar again properly. Although properly is a objective term!

Not wound up in the slightest mate. Just a bit of gentle hipster ribbing. 🙂  Anyway, anything "folky" released after Penguin Eggs in 1980 is shallow derivative band-wagon shite.

I know, the Isle of Wight.

I am not ashamed to say I am loving Below Deck. Just nice to see sunshine and drama upon the high seas!

BBC have got summat on about 6 hip-hop tracks that changed America, watched the one about Run DMC and the one about Queen Latifah last night. Was ok but nothing earth shattering, might have turned them off if it wasn't for me having a thing about Latifah.
