March 18, 20179 yr I agree with Big E on this, it's a bit of fun, if you don't want to join in, then don't (I don't bother) - if nothing else it at least gives a little bit of a boost to our beleaguered pub industry for a day. Live and let live and all that Very much this I used to hate the Irish fir some reason, I was young and hated everyone from cockneys to scousers though - think it was a part of going the football ever week Look back at all that now and cringe Anyroad - paddys day - it's not something I fully get behind but anything that gets people out and spending is good for the economy (all of us) Happy paddys day Edited March 18, 20179 yr by birch-chorley
March 18, 20179 yr Fucking hell Birch lad, Baden Powell will be rolling in his grave. What don't you like? Their woggles or the fact that they sew badges down their sleeves? Or is that Scousers?
March 18, 20179 yr The drunkest I've ever been in my life was after a session on bootleg potcheen (Or Poitin) but it wasn't Paddys day or owt, just a house party. Never, ever, again.
March 18, 20179 yr I am going out for a few tonight. My days of being bothered by folk who just don't want you to have fun are long gone. town will be heaving. can't wait That's the correct attitude
March 18, 20179 yr I had a good laugh at St Patrick's Day party last night. Mainly due to spending the evening supping with a lad from Leicester & one from Leigh, all of us incredulous at how much the Irish lot were getting into it. It's nice to be patriotic and all that but I have to say it wasn't for me. Oh and it might be because I'm not Irish but fucking hell, their traditional music is a din. March 18, 20179 yr I went to Sligo Town a couple of years ago on St Patrick's day, had a great time, probably one of the best days out I've ever had, street parades during the day, floats the lot, bands in every bar, everybody (or so it seemed) in Ireland out celebrating, free food, free Poitin shots, also one of the lads I was out with was getting a lot of attention from the ladies, he told me it was because he was on X Factor, I laughed very loudly but not long after it turned out to be true. Anyhow, nothing against the Irish or those celebrating St Paddy's day, they certainly know how to celebrate
