Say hi to Katie B, poor lass always has looked like her dad.  As for going self employed, I did it 3 years ago and I'm glad I did. Not as much money coming in but much better quality of life.

Sounds a good way to squirrel away some extra cash????

The reds may disagree!

They will take young birds from nests and are destructive fuckers.

Can be entertaining I'll give you that, but once they came they've bred like mad to the detriment of our indigenous species.

May I ask why would a squirrel cause any issue for anyone?

There's a shit load piss about in my garden every day and all they do is steal berries and apples. Not a shooting offence surely?

Immigration, innit.

Aren't the reds protected but the greys not - you can basically kill and eat them?

Something in that? ;)

I always thought the greys took over because they were bigger and stronger and nicked all the reds food but apparently the greys infect the reds with some kind of squirrel aids when mating with them.

If they get in your loft (I've had around 10 till I sorted the soffits out) they chew the wiring and scurry around all night keeping you awake.

The council sorted the first one out for £50. I then bought a cage that cought the other 9.

Do they make a tasty stew?

I was told it's illegal to let them loose in the wild and there's no way I could kill them.

20 grands worth of damage in the roof

So what did you do?  Have you now got 9 pet squirrels?

Honestly, I'd be mortified  - would only kill an animal to eat it nowadays and thankfully I don't have to.  Never tried squirrel though so . . .

I'd let em go down the bunk and let TMGJ deal with em ;)

Grey and reds mating ?

So then, we'd end up with ginger squirrels ?

Can you shoot foxes? They are a nightmare round here, council won't do a thing.

Only crack foxes

I refuse to answer the question as it may incriminate me.????

They are wild animals so belong in the wild, not my loft!

You get idiots feeding the urban ones, aren't they cute etc. The ones round here are half the size and get twatted by next doors cat so I could send him down to do some windmilling.

The nutter next door has left a load of pallets in her back garden so they've taken up residence there and because we're on the edge of the town centre and next to a fairly big park they have loads of food around.

The bins all over the place are ripped open and scattered of a Monday morning. They just walk up and down the street, anytime. Honestly, I'd happily go on a fox hunt.

TMGJ got his hands full then . . . :)

Foxes that can eat through wheelie bins? Must be tough bastards!

Wheelie bins? We'd be lucky - like a lot of London boroughs the council don't supply households with a wheelie bin. You get a food bin and plastic boxes for recyclables- so there are a lot of bin bags left in the street for collection.

Savages!

As they're always nicking the bird food, perhaps I could lace it with a squirrel equivalent of the pill.
