Selling On E Bay

Hello!

I bought a second hand Lacoste Polo a few weeks ago off E bay and it was far too small for the size it was advertised at, I didn't complain, I just stuck it back on Ebay to try and recoup some money back. However, I sold the Polo for less than I originally paid for it and the buyer now wants a full refund, as they say the Polo has shrunk and is out of shape!

I currently have 100% feedback and for the sake of about £15.00 should I just offer a full refund and cut my losses?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Swanny is your man.

I'd tell them to do one, they've clearly washed it wrong

eBay used to be good many years ago

Too many knobs who don't pay and shit loads of false advertising now

I'd keep your feedback tbh.

Like RW says there's a lot of shite hawks on there now, 100% or nothing for most.

Yeah, that's the way I'm thinking, I've still got a few days to respond, I might just have to put this one down to experience.

dont give in to the cunts. Its not gonna make a massive difference, all your good feedback will outweigh the one potential twat review

I've never sold anything on the internet. But if I was I'd want 100% reputation. Can you reason with the guy? If not sadly I'd bite the bullet.

I bought a henri Lloyd jacket once off eBay but it didn't have all the football stubs in I was promised and it reeked of crime.

contact eBay and ask them.. they'll then back you

customer of mine cut the shirt when they unwrapped it, eBay sided with them..

I'm currently banned because too many people contacted me about sellling out of ebay..

phh

I've been selling on ebay for years and I think it's got harder.

The buyers tend to be a "type" ie - they expect top bollocks goods for next to fuck all money.

A lot of dodgy buyers take the piss knowing most sellers will do anything to protect their feedback.

Apologise and ask for it back and you will refund upon return. Offer to cover their return postage as well. My bet is you'll hear no more about it.

Think Amazon is the new eBay.

You can pretty much set up a warehouse full of stock and they'll hold it for you.

Only been stung once on eBay. Similar issue. I put it down to experience and kept my 100% feedback. When I've sold clothes, mainly for my daughters I've always stated quite clearly no refunds if item has been washed and that I can't guarantee any faults after washing. But I'd maybe contact eBay as suggested above to see what they think

I sold you that in good faith, and the ticket stubs were still in the pocket when I posted it.

You want some bad feedback brah?

i think i posted to here, but for some reason it wasn't up to snuff.

if you wanted to be arse-y the distance selling regulations no longer permit *anyone* to have to absorb any return costs. they never did apply to normal peoples ebay accounts. but they dont even apply to big giant firms anymore.

I think they changed the rules cos too many people were taking the piss out of places like F+F , George , and the like.. might not be good PR at first , but normally people hate cheapskates moaning to the papers so eventually the tide turns, then people forget anyway.

also when some low wage intern accidentally confuses a comma for a decimal point on two hundred laptop computers they dont have to sell them to you when youve bought them all for £1.20 each.

change the thing at the bottom to "No Returns" to frighten off the cheapskates and if theyre still that worried about returns , they'll ask before they bid.

"hey dude , if i bid on this *second hand piece of crap* and it breaks after 10 minutes , can you mend it or send another ?"

"no , i only have one"

easy.

Or put a 12in/30cm ruler or big coin in the photo for scale.. Then it'll frighten off people complaining about it being too tight or the wrong size when there's scale evidence stare-ing (staring?) back at them.

Most of my ebay auctions are a giant list of 'faults' to scare folk off.

If you don't issue a refund and the buyer takes it to dispute they will win. You will lose your 100% and your £15 also. E bay these days tend to side with the buyer. Did you state in your original listing that it was bought as a size x but turned out to be a smaller fit? if not you are goosed anyway. Get the buyer to return the item at their cost before refund and if still saleable I am told by a Facebook user that there is a specific Lacoste buy/sell page on their site.

sorry, i messed up the formatting on that one [ ha, ha ] but i think it went somthing like that

scaring folk off bidding is the best ebay tactic. less sales , but less time spent tailoring to the whims (?) of cheapskate dicks

sorry, carry on.
