Crypto Currency

Anyone had a dabble?

I was told to get on bitcoin years ago but thought the lad who tipped me off was smoking crack. Turns out even a modest £1,000 investment then would have seen me become a multi millionaire now ffs

One lad I know has made about £700k on something called Ether from a few grand invested

Few of the lads are going balls deep into ripple bits as we speak

I'm weighing up a piece of the action

It looks like a volatile road but incredibly profitable if you land on the right peg

Ripple is infectious, I keep on putting into it and it keeps on fucking me over.   I could have cashed out at dinner time for a decent return but thought I’d leave it. Doh!

Anyway I always said it’s a long term investment so I’ll have to wait and see

What's the best app to use for these cryptos? thinking of having a dabble

I know Stevie mention Uphold the other day

@royal white

It'll bounce back but you're right, noon-ish was the time to cashout.

I left in to recoup negligble losses on that Dogecoin - like a tit.

Should've got rid of that on Saturday It'd have washed its face then.

I used to use Plus500 but when I left in they were autoselling, then when I was skimming/day-trading they restricted my account because I was rinsing them literally in my sleep (with autobuy/sell).

Uphold seems OK so far - a little slow to load and in transitions...

Invested in some Ripple on Saturday.

Could've cashed out this morning for double my outlay but stuck...

Now back to square 1.

Greed.

Well I executed my plan perfectly - until the greed kicked in. Invested Friday night. A bit more on Saturday. Cashed out between 0.61 and 0.67 today. 100% - 120% gains. Before the huge crash. But then as it was heading down from 0.76 to around 0.68 - I panicked thinking it was a quick correction before the rocket launch to 1.00 and ploughed my profits back in..... and then it went down some more. And some more. And basically wiped everything out again! haha. Never learn to just accept a decent profit. Greed is the death of us all.

I always feel a bit guilty too cashing out - contributing to the Ripple effect of the inevitable drop.

But it's mostly greed.

I'll keep in and hope it rallies tomorrow, after another drop late tonight/early tomorrow UK time.

@royal white
Have you got a wallet?

Fucking locked out of mine, fuck knows where my recovery key is.

It was scrawled on some cereal box, I know that much...

I’m using Etoro at the minute so only trading on the underlying Assets. I have the option of transferring to a wallet but I haven’t done it yet.

Going to have a look at it tomorrow, might even put 50p on. You can be my crypto shaman.

Right, I’ve considered your offer and breathed in through clenched teeth while shaking my head but after consulting my wife, we emptied our gallon whisky bottle and it’s your lucky day, we found another 45 10p pieces which, along with the first one, we are willing to sell at your offer price of £5 each. That’s £230 all together.

By the way, you may also be interested in the magic beans I am selling.

Not sure about e-Toro as I've not used it, but Plus500 once cashed me out (xrp) when I'd left in long-term(ish), I'd probably ticked sommat I hadn't read, it was rising and falling like a snore at the time over 24hrs - their timing was right - at a fucking trough.

I'd definitely swipe it into your wallet if you're awaiting another daft rise in the long term.

Just don't misplace your recovery key 😉

Don't know about that, I'm more Ebeneezer Scrooge than Ebeneezer Goode...

Like Smiley and RW I got greedy yesterday, could have cashed out XRP at lunch up 100% but had visions of another rise to the heady heights of $2, sommat that'll arguably never happen again...

There was a chance to double money on Ripple and Dogecoin in the past week but these were just blips due to the Reddit Wall Street lot's shenanigans, especially the press they got for the Gamestop short-squeeze and murmurings they were going to en masse lump on Dogecoin, and Ripple (followed by everyone following them)...

It happened and I think Stevieb got in and out at just the right time.

I've just thrown my hand in 25% down.

Like I said, could've been up 100% 24hrs ago if those $ signs hadn't obscured my vision. 🙄

What price was it at when you got in?

bit late to the party, like 8 years late. he's one of them "couldve bought some years ago , when it was already worth $1000"

but as noted on the internet recently, he's got ballwashers retconning his Paypal involvement into "they tried setting up a cryptocurrency first, but were too early"

ignoring things like this

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flooz.com; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beenz.com ; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DigiCash ; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-gold

"Chaum stated in an interview in 1999 that the DigiCash project, and its technology system, entered the market before e-commerce was fully integrated within the Internet"

egold was quite popular back in the day.

If you dont remember MTGOX collapsing , then your late to the Bitcoin thing. although it was already worth around 65$ at that point and was as popular as owt by then because the ledger was massive and syncing the files took ages. which is one of the reasons why online wallets became popular in the first place.

how do we know that he didnt buy dogecoins , hype them, them sell them and buy bitcoins?

folk cant even buy real silver without the stockmarket shutting down. or buy stock in a covid19 closed videogame store.

its suss
