Yes they all left as a result of Brexit.

Now theres vacancies as our people won't fill them.

The reason they came here to work in the first place is becasue the jobs were available.

Helps if you read the full article.

Helps if you don’t quote selectively. How about the very next paragraph, for example.

My quote was In reference to Gonzo assumption that uk workers were not taking up these jobs… so why would I quote something that’s not relevant to that?

Mounts, everyone - on both sides of the political divide - recognises the country needs immigration.

Your sentence literally makes no sense whatsoever either economically or politically.

No wonder your head gets turned by every soundbite you hear or headline you read.

Brexit is a religion now.

There is no god but Brexit.

And his Son Farage is the prophet.

Well if you were replying to Gonzo’s post, why didn’t you say “you’re exactly right Gonzo, that’s confirmed by the article, which says that there are over 28,000 vacancies which aren’t being filled.”

When I omitted something irrelevant to the conversation the other day, you called me a "shit-talking clown". 🤔

Mate Ive been working in town around hotels and shops since 9am this morning. The only people on the streets going to work are Polish.

All those drinking cider in doorways or wandering about off their faces are our very own.

On the wider scale loads have left due to brexit. Thats a fact. Loads came here in the first place becasue the opportunity was there. That's a fact.

We currently have an employment crisis in a lot of sectors as those opportunities are still there but are not being taken. That's also a fact.

I wish it wasnt this way and like in your utopian land we had droves of British folk queuing up for jobs. But we dont. We never have and never will.

Fair play, I've been in bed reading and watching it tip down with the Archers on the radio....it has been bliss!

You are sadly right Gonzo.  I’ve been in Lanzarote this week (thinly veiled…) and I’ve seen the best and worst of British folk (there are loads here). We like having fun and are usually polite and considerate. However, I’ve also seen that we have become obese and lazy. It has shocked me to see how much so in comparison to the other nations represented here.

Yes you’re right, people being lazy on holidays, spending all day just lying there in the sun. Ridiculous. Why aren’t they doing Burpees and mountain climbers.

Was in Costa Teguise last week pal. Bars struggling for staff due to British workers only being allowed 90 days. Another brexit benefit :)

So last week they went back home because the exchange was shit and they could earn as much at home, today the all left because of Brexit. Yet later today the only people going to work here are Poles 😂 which is it 🤷🏻‍♂️

You dont think our economy shrinking has contributed to a lower exchange rate and higher living costs?

The only ones left have family here, and they are the only ones left working hence the current staffing crisis across the board.

They should be fucking off all the British workers, and getting their own scroungers to do those jobs anyway. Probably.

Well you’d think they would look for work in other European countrys but like spider said all his went home to Poland and have resettled there.

There’s a lot more that have remained here, to make out that the majority have left is just bull shit.

We are in Costa Teguise, nice place isn’t it? All hotel and bar staff are locals although a few places are closed I just assumed that was because it is not peak season.

My mates hotel lost 70% of its staff in one hit.

The staffing shortages in nearly ever sector from fruit picking to hospitality, Warehouses, baggage handlers etc etc.

Is that just coincidence?

So why did they leave was it Because of the wages? The majority have stayed so something isn’t adding up is it.

How do you explain those shortages?
