  • A disgrace. The starting lineup was maybe, just maybe on a par with some of our other European games. That bench though looks like the rota at fucking Burger King, no hope of changing the game if requ

I can't understand that, its fucking inexcusable. The Prem is/was their bread and butter, the whole reason why they are multi millionaires in the first instance and they want to fucking sulk about....

Wasn't at the Lisbon game but was at Wigan. I've given up being pissed off about the events surrounding the games. Too much speculation on who said/decided what. As fans I doubt we'll ever know what really went on in the background

I just look back with incredible sadness at the day that I was at a meeting at The Malmaison at the bottom of the ramp at Piccadilly station watching hordes of pissed up Rangers fans heading into town, and then watching them destroy the town centre. It could have been us..........celebrating nicely of course...

Winning something every time for me. I’m not sure I even miss the premier league. I suppose the real gauge will be when we go back up on that.

It achieved nothing playing that team other than piss players/fans off!

We will never (likely) get a chance to beat sporting where beating Wigan will happen plenty of times.

Would you risk the future of the club to try & win something ? I wouldn't.

I agree about not being sure about being in the prem league now, when we would only ever be making the numbers up, but ,at the time, we had competed at the top, & crucially were dependent on the money.

The aim of playing a weakened team was to prioritise survival......we survived, so it achieved that. Anything else is ifs & buts.

Would you risk the future of the club to try & win something ? I wouldn't.

I still fail to see how trying to win 4 more games on a season would jeopardise the club. It's all ifs and bits.

I wonder how many Portsmouth or Wigan fans would trade the cup win for a few more seasons in the top flight?

I bet not many. But again that's my only opinion

Ifs & buts.  We could have played our strongest team at Lisbon, lost, picked up loads of injuries, lost at Wigan ,& got relegated.

The fact is that we prioritised staying up & did so .

.

we might have lost both games and been relegated

or stayed up

we might have won one and lost one and been relegated

all sorts could've happened

rightly or wrongly, the club decided their priority was staying up

and, we did

the only cnuts in this are the players who downed tools on that sunday

as for the team selection, i was more annoyed that allardyce played games at plovdiv

Did fat head say that when he saw how many fans had gone to plovdiv(sunny beach in reality) he thought he'd made a mistake with his squad selection. He could see how important it was for the fans. The players and back room staff walked down the promenade before the game, they were treated like heroes!! Although that's probably because almost everyone was pissed....

To be honest that would of been some of them players biggest game in their careers and they were told they were being rested for Wigan! Whichever way you look at it you can see why a few were pissed off, no?

pissed off, yes

sulky mard twats who fcuked it off on the sunday, no

They made up for it at Stoke and boro :)

This Wigan game, didn't Borgetti fail to score from about 3cm out?

Re the Kevin Davies criticism (plus others at Wigan away)

I confirm that mon would run through walls for us.

He was like a petulant kid

Always glad that I caught the tail end of the game, and then aftermath as we were locked in for however long, on video. I doubt I'll get the chance again!

Think I've got that scarf somewhere

The game used to be about glory. Now it's all about scrambling to get/stay in the Premier League. From our time in the Premier League all we've got are memories. Would have liked something tangible to show for it like winning a cup when we had a team capable.
