never been able to get into him, dunno why, just can't

 

yet I do like some stuff by Lou Reed and Iggy Pop who sound like him because he helps write and produce them

Although if you like his songs - buy the Girl from the North Country soundtrack.

I know what you mean.  He's grown more and more on me over the years.

 

I like the story telling side to him, very poetic and creative when you really listen.  Something like Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts - plus I like the blues/folk thing he generally has backing him.

Saw him live and he mumbled through in the club style

 

Browny was terrible but when on it . . .

Not necessarily great covers, but Foos did Jump by Van Halen the other night to the piano line from Lennon's Imagine.

Also did Ramones Blitzkrieg Bop and Under Pressure by Queen. Plus the bass line from Love Will Tear Us Apart.

From his first album to his latest there is always something - from Song for Woody Guthrie to Working Man’s Blues - including high points in his low points such as Jokerman. His voice has never bothered me - on his 60s it’s lively folk voice. His 70s work with the Rolling Thunder Reveue was amazing and came out of the whole Blood in the Tracks ....sorry, I’ll stop now as I’ll just waffle on.

Love Will Tear Us Apart by Paul Young brings a tear to my eye. What a partnership he and Ian Curtis would've made.
