Paypal Advice

Really fuming about this and any help would be much appreciated!

Basically, I sold a brand new pair of adidas trainers back in March on Ebay, I sent the trainers recorded delivery, which were signed for and the buyer even left me positive feedback.

But back in May, I had a case opened up against me and this was the message from paypal:-

Dear

The sender of the payment outlined below has requested their financial institution to reverse (part, or all of) this payment. They've cited the following reason:

The buyer stated that they did not authorise this purchase.

Here are the case details:

  • Sender's name: craig beech
  • Sender's email: cloudnine4576@gmail.com
  • Payment date: 6 March 2018
  • Payment amount: £49.85 GBP

My paypal account was left with a negative balance plus a charge too, I provided paypal with the details of the recorded delivery tracking number and I have now received this message from paypal. FUMING!

Dear

As you know, we've been working with the buyer's credit card issuer to dispute the chargeback detailed below.

  • Buyer's name: craig beech
  • Buyer's email: cloudnine4576@gmail.com
  • Buyer's transaction ID: 4EP57229DA471214S
  • Your transaction ID: 7KJ93083507856609
  • Transaction date: 6 March 2018
  • Transaction amount: £49.85 GBP
  • Disputed amount: £49.85 GBP

The credit card issuer decided the chargeback in the buyer's favour as the buyer met their requirements.

We cannot dispute this transaction any further, but you can contact the buyer directly to try to reach a resolution.

Thank you for your patience. We appreciate your business.

Yours sincerely,

Feel sorry for you, I stopped using PayPal about a year ago, when according to my account I spent about £1800 on some eBay shit - the money was taken from my account and I opened a dispute up with PayPal. In the end, my bank had to step in and take over, they refunded me, and I let them get on with it. I was still short of the money for about 7-10 days though

The annoying thing was, on the transactions, of which there were several, everything was shipped to the same address (in Walsall I think it was) so it can't have been too difficult for them to trace what had gone on, or at least inform the authorities of the fraudulent activity (which I suppose they might have done)

I vowed never to use PayPal again, especially as they never ever came back to me, it was actually Santander who called me up and said they had sorted it all on my behalf

I use it a lot, never had a problem to be fair but sympathise.

Stuff like that is really annoying.

Surely there is a fraud going on if he is now saying he did not authorise the payment but left positive feedback? Was his EBay account hacked?

I would mail him and ask what the issue is and if no resolution is reached report it as fraud to his local police.

One of the blokes kids has probably bought the trainers through his Dads ebay account - it's very easily done.

He's found out, gone mental and contacted Paypal and said he didn't authorise the purchase - so they've refunded his money.

Bastard.

Yep, via his credit card company. The time lag suggests he's picked it up on a statement, contacted his CC company. Probably played ignorance, knowing his kid has done it.

Blondi, have you had them back yet?

If not can you claim from Royal Mail as they were signed for or as suggested contact police for fraud?

Must be a mechanism through ebay to report non-payment? That is only course of action I think.

Whoever you approach will ask if you have contacted the buyer and will not do anything unless you have.

Send them an email stating the facts and asking if they know who could have accessed their details and if the signature on the POD is known to them.

Then tell them you are not a business, £50 out of pocket and need as much info as you can get.

I was scammed via PayPal and don’t use it any longer

Had the trainers back you mean? I've had nothing back, the weird thing is, the trainers were posted to an address in Sheffield back in March, the buyer opened a case against me because they hadn't received the trainers, (there was a massive backlog due to snow then apparently) I gave them the tracking number and they collected the trainers the next day and closed the case, I have all the messages from the buyer saying they received the trainers too.

This has really pissed me off with Paypal, I'm £67.00 down for doing nothing wrong.

What's Craig Beech said?

Aye the trainers.  Stuff like this would drive me to Baz like levels of rage . . . :)

I'm not getting how if you have proof of them being received you are having to fork out?   Surely with all that you have a strong legal case?

Thing with stuff like this though you end up not bothering as it's not worth the hassle.

Good luck with it all though - do they have a twitter page or owt like that?  Might be worth writing an account of what happened on there if so?

What's Craig Beech said?

I emailed him this morning and not a Dickie Bird! I've just sent him another one basically giving him 24 hours to respond.

He sounds a bellend

Didn't something similar once get mentioned on here about how the individual was unpleasant and everyone kept mentioning it.

Something like craig beech seems a cunt.

Seriously though, Just imagine If I'd sold say a genuine Rolex watch for say 5K or something, could the result be the same?

Anyway, I know it's only £67.00 that I am now down, but this kind of thing really makes my blood boil and now I am prepared to unleash hell.

I have emailed Craig Beech and I have said to him that unless he refunds me £67.00 I will make sure his Architecture business, receives negative comments etc for scamming and frauding me and he has 24 hours to respond.

We'll see what happens.

Can't believe the 'buyer' is trying to protect his son by 'cheating' you.

PayPal are acting like are arseholes as is the 'buyer'. Report it to the police.

Thanks for your advice guys, it is really appreciated and you've done me a massive favour in finding out who Chris Beech is, so that gives me something to aim for now.

With me, it's the principle more than anything and I am on a mission now.

.

Probably, but anybody selling an item on eBay for more than about £50 surely knows the risks and how open to fraudulent activity it is

Make sure it's dog shit so they can't trace your DNA
