Bagged a ticket for Wednesday just now.

Cue the rain!

Roy gets in the side because we desperately need an opener and have too many lower middle order bullies

Fails horrible as opener, so gets moved down to be another middle order slugger. Makes sense.

What I don't get is that with Roy his failing in tests is technical. He pushes hard in front of himself at the ball. That is how he plays. I see little room for him changing his technique - unlike say Buttler who is adaptable as a batsman to a degree and can play the ball late.

But putting Roy down the order works if he comes in with a soft ball 300 on the board and tired bowlers. But our middle order aren't getting that luxury. They often are in against a still moving ball with the Aussies' tails right up. So Roy's technique gets him out whether he bats 1 or 5.

If we had a top order that could make more runs then Buttler and Woakes would do better and Roy wouldn't be needed there....

Woakes out

Hmm

Is he injured?

Not quite looked himself this series in fairness.

Would have liked to have seen the Surrey lad whose name evades me (one of the brothers)

Aye.

Not sure how much cricket there'll be. Umpires quick to go off which is understandable but always seem slow to come back on.

Broad is living in Warner's head.

Windy, cold and rainy. Which bright spark scheduled a Test Match in Manchester for September

Yep

It's rather breezy, let us know where you land.

Best we can hope for is a draw here, weather to help us this time

Frustrating that in conditions that were windy but likely offered movement we bowled so erratically. Could easily have had them 4 or 5 down for 60. Need to be more disciplined with line and length.

Smith 200 today

Kinell. When they're slipping in the run up, and trying to compensate for very strong wind can't blame them for not being quite so accurate.

Today better.

Dreadful weather yesterday. That wind was pretty aggressive. Saw a few fences go tumbling inside the ground.

Can’t believe it was £5.50 a pint. Only a fiver at Headingley!

Played a part but we've been like this all series. Inconsistent spells of bowling. It costs us dearly. Though in fairness only because generally we struggle with the bat. Pressure always on bowlers as it is right now. 300+ a huge score in this series.

Typical. Leach has Smith caught of a No Ball

No doubt the Yorkies moaned about it
