The fella was in his 90s so had a good innings.

Still shitty as he seemed like a genuinely nice man.

He was 95, he'd had a good knock

Now there's a guy who genuinely and positively left his mark on the world

Can't be too many others who made the kind of impact he did on popular culture over the last 100 years

Bugger :(

I was always a DC fan of American Comics when I was a kid, i loved Superman more than Spiderman. Miss you Stan Lee. R.I.P.

Went to an exhibition at the Jewish Museum of Atlanta which was about Stan and his partner in comics Jack Kirby how following the war comics was one of the few places taking in jewish staff. it's amazing how much those 2 men are responsible for in modern culture

The rest of the museum was a really insightful place

The artistry and colour of those comics being sold on Tyldesley market in the early 60s had me hooked, the story lines had me hanging on for the next issue.

I have nothing but disdain for the Marvel brand these days but RIP

Do they still make that milk powder?

So which character would be your favourite, if you had to pick one?

Would have to be Spiderman for me.

In the comics Thor is my favourite.

But in the films its gotta be Deadpool.

Jack Kirby would beg to differ.

Sad that he passed, but I've never known anyone who stole their fame as much as that man.

Didn't really know who he was, but that's some legacy he leaves.

Not my thing, but can understand now what all the fuss is about. He must have been fucking loaded.

Him and Kirkby definitely didn't get along, yet together created so much of popular culture influences.

Agreed.

Quick Google suggests he was worth around $50m
