The laws say that you can only be out stumped off a wide

No they say the ball cannot be classed as a wide as the batsman’s hit it. So in the score books it with classify as an extra just a dot and a wicket

In Bolton, anything down the leg side is classed as a wide. Does this mean anyone successfully playing a hook shot or a reverse sweep gets just whatever he scores or does he get the one for the wide as well?

If he hits it, it can't be deemed a wide

Not sure how many have seen the replay, but Vince's bat bit the ground as the ball went past the edge.

Small signals totally different from the sharp, high amplitude spike seen when ball hits bat.

They were low amplitude almost like increased background noise, more like you'd expect with a gentle brush on roughish ground.

Can't believe the chap doing the reviewing didn't see it.

Anyway, it was a great win.

You can run extra wides if the ball hasn’t been hit. 

If the batsman hits the balls irrespective of how wide it was the ball is live and any runs are runs not extras and the batsman can be out by any method
