Meanwhile in Israel

Is it kicking off big time or is this just everyday stuff they deal with or a bit of both?

It makes it quite a bit easier when you're allowed in!

You’re just struggling to read mate

Go back a month & you’ll work it all out.

COGAT are an honest organisation who are always 100% accurate. No alternative motive or agenda whatsoever. The famine and malnutrition is all the fault of the UN. No blame lies with Israel 🙄

We’ve  seen this graph before. Go back a month 👍

You are allowed to look at graphs more than once you know? 😁 They don't disappear once you've seen them.

Good then you will understand (at least I hope you will) the figures if you look at the previous months. Not just cherry picked months 👍

No - this is just a graph I noticed in passing. Feel free to send over a longer dataset! 👍

@London Wanderer posted it last week. I’m sure he will happily post it again.

Just been reading the article it's from.

No reason to disbelieve it, though it would be good if they would give more detail.

The aid is described as dried and tinned.

The amount required per day, in weight is 1.86kg.

Presumably, this is the weight once soaked and reconstituted?

For example, 100g dried chickpeas has around 340 calories. 100g plain flour, 360 calories.

It would be very easy for another article to claim that such a weight of dried food would be more than enough for one person.

In tinned food, depending upon its contents, the calorific value could be effectively lowered by any water in the can, which adds weight, but no calories.

The article also says the distribution company hasn't produced evidence that Hamas is stealing food- there was a video just the other week of a chap who delivers aid, saying he'd seen exactly that!

Really is just claim and counterclaim.

The fishing ban is fucking ridiculous, and it would seem patently obvious that getting some sort of farming going again would benefit all.

Supply some seeds and ensure an adequate water supply would be a sensible starting point.

Such things really don't help the Israeli claims- if they allowed basic tasks to re-commence, and sent in food weights verified by an independent body, then all accusations against them would be debunked.

If folk continued to be hungry, then the spotlight falls squarely onto Hamas, and gangs of thugs.

I know mate 👍 was referring to something else. Never mind 😅

Even the inadequate amounts of aid being provided by Israel were insufficient in themselves.

Here’s an analysis of the aid boxes since the GHF took over.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd787er1qz4o.amp

“Dr Andrew Seal, an associate professor of international nutrition at the University College London, said the food boxes were deficient in calcium, iron, zinc, and vitamins C, D, B12, and K. He added there was also a lack of foods to suit young children.

"Prolonged consumption of these foods, even if they were made available in adequate amounts, would lead to a range of deficiencies and serious health problems," he said.

He added that unlike the GHF, agencies like the UN typically distribute food in bulk and supplement it with targeted nutrition for vulnerable groups. The World Food Programme (WFP) has said it also aims to deliver emergency supplies for young children and pregnant women.”

Only one group looking responsible for the famine & malnutrition from where I’m sitting. Yet to hear COGAT discuss the content of these boxes.

And now children are being flown into European nations for hospital treatment. Grim.

Grim? I think it’s great kids are getting treatment.

Yes grim that it got to the point of people dying of starvation & needing to flown across the world to get treatment. There will be many more not so ‘lucky’

It’s always better to get them out of a war zone. Especially one where the enemy use Kids as shields.

It is better to get them out you’re right

Hamas using them as shields, Israel butchering kids indiscriminately & starving them to the brink of death. Enemies on both sides.

Is this any surprise? How they have the nerve to claim that they are unbiased is beyond me.

How many times have they had to apologise now?

Their biases are obvious:-

Needs a fucking good dose of salts putting through it and a good clean out. Let's hope Nigel gets in. He'll cleanse the place.

Classic example of “the view depends on where you stand”.

IMHO, from my right-centrist view, the Beeb continues to do a pretty good, balanced, unbiased job with news reporting.

Do I think the Mirror/Guardian do so in print? Nah - leftie nonsense.

Do I think the Mail/Express do so in print? Nah - right wing hysteria.

GB news? - just dross.

it’s a choice at the end of the day what to watch, listen, read.  Not always healthy either to just have our own beliefs constantly being reinforced. It’s good to have them challenged.

Ah - so it's the BBC's fault for spreading disinformation at the behest of their socialist overlords.

I'm glad we managed to get that one straightened out.

We can all stop worrying about what's happening in Gaza now. Hurray! 😁

The guys ridiculous

comes out with all sorts of conspiracies. Look at his thread.

The BBC are a ‘propaganda tool of Hamas’ - ‘they are full of obsessive anti Israel journalists’.

Pure fictional nonsense

I’ve listened to plenty of radio interviews & read articles where they have reported on anti semitism & given a fair a balanced report from both sides. Israeli politicians and journalists are regularly invited on to give their side & speak on the BBC. Not once have the BBC denied Israel’s right to sovereignty.

David Collier just comes across as a fella having a massive paddy because he’s not been invited on.

They make mistakes like every media institution of their size (Thats to be expected). They admit it when they do. The cancer patient report requires nuance as well. Because it’s the sickest & most vulnerable who die first during famines. Was his cancer terminal or treatable would be my first question. If it wasn’t, then the BBC missing the key information isn’t evidence there isn’t a famine going on. It’s just poor reporting from the person who wrote it.

The BBC have run some excellent stories documenting the extremist settlers & the state funded atrocities that are being committed in the West Bank. That’s pissed a lot of people off. But it’s shown there are extremists with the same mindset as Hamas sitting in the Israeli cabinet. People are struggling to accept that, they want this to portrayed as Israel vs the terrorists. So any nuance that is brought in rocks the boat. And suddenly the BBC are to blame.

Here are the pro Palestine mob protesting outside the BBC last week. They’ve been there plenty of times.

When you’ve got those with entrenched views on both sides claiming they’re biased - I think that shows they’re fairly balanced most of the time.
