A View From The Other Side

I realise some of you may have zero interest in this which is fair enough but from time to time I like to have a snoop on OppositionWays out of curiosity. Thought it was worth compiling some together which I'll do in this thread whenever I get chance.

Seems like Lincoln have some pretty level headed fans but then one or two absolutely bitter fuckers.

Pick of the bunch includes:

THE BITTER

Quote

How about 10 points deducted for every £million of debt a club has?
Wonder just how low these perennial cheats would drop?

Quote
Bolton stayed in Lincoln last night. Not leaving much to chance.

No that was so they could rack up extra debt.

Quote

Surely we can't lose to these cheats?
Why are they not on multiple minus points?

Quote

I'd rather be us than them. How long do they have to pay their debt?

Quote

The simple truth is, as much as the away fans won't want to admit it, we lost to one of those vile clubs tonight. One of those that has spent beyond their means, and clearly continues to do so.

THE PRAISE

Quote

Good game. Shit result.
By the standards of last season Bolton should be pushing for promotion. But then that was last season.

Quote

Beaten by the better team. Good to see a big away following.

Quote

FT. Good game. Credit to Bolton - they did enough to control the game throughout, although we had some bright moments, especially in the first half. They also scored at exactly the right time and managed the game out.

Quote

Bolton also look like a really good side who should be in the top half of the table.

Quote

I have backed Bolton to win the league as I think they are a decent team. They looked like a very settled team that are used to winning.

He got us out of league one, kept us in the Championship against the odds & only really failed when the ship was sinking financially. Yes he was a little direct & predictable, but I wish

Think the Atherton LR manager said he’d been offered to us but we had no interest. I’d assume he had a bit of beef with us. I’d never heard of him before Sunday though. No from me.

Nothing wrong with players having a bit of needle and being pissed off. He was playing well and just have shocked to see his number go up

He doesn't ever seem to play a full match

No idea why they took him off, he was their only threat and put the ball in our net twice. Can't blame him for being pissed.

They're genuinely such a nothing club, like the pie eaters but at least they actually have some substance, won an fa cup and been in the Premier League.

These lot with the usual tinpot national league chants. A group of them were proper arrogant walking up Wembley Way, saying they always do us, will do it again and even little kids singing Bolton get battered.

For nothing clubs like Wigan & Stockport, we are the only relevant thing for them. Genuinely their cup finals.

Delighted we battered both of them and dragged them back down to earth. Reality check for their tinpot fans.

Add to that Salford… was there on Monday and they genuinely gutted they can’t play us

even offered to recreate their Wembley atmosphere by standing in a field with a bin bag and Sainsbury’s bag tied to a stick, invite their team down and watch them not turn up 😂

Same for me. Like what he does on the pitch not sure about his attitude.

That said he was the biggest Stockport threat all game so can see why he'd be pissed off.

Same for me- biggest game of your career, don’t give it the big un… looked a complete dick

Kenny did the exact same celebration when he scored in front of their fans, and we loved him having that "attitude".

Its all part of the game, its not being a dick, Charles used to do that all the time and we didn't say we need to get rid of him because of his arrogance.

Really? Missed that meme. Fair enough. Don’t be a dick in front of 30k opposition fans after 9 mins if your goal will be disallowed, regardless of scoring another just in case you get absolutely bummed on live TV. But at least he got a line from the tactical genius.

Bit niche that one though.

This isn’t panto- personally I don’t like that kind of attitude on the pitch. Celebrate by all means, but always be respectful. Dunno… maybe that’s the coach in me

I agree with that, but its a different point.  I hate all that arrogance stuff being in the game, no need for it, but now its here we can't say we don't want certain players because of it.  Kenny and Charles being examples.

Re the goal being disallowed, that's just a VAR problem not the fault of the players, otherwise nobody is ever going to celebrate a goal at the point it enters the net even if you've checked for a flag or whistle.  (That's where we're going with VAR, they don't want spontaneity and enjoyment in the moment, they want cold clinical correct decisions 5 mins later).
