January 11, 20224 yr With a direct debit isn't it via a finance company rather than the club - they in turn release money to the club in advance?

It goes straight to the club. Or "Football Ventures Whites Limited" to be specific. Quote FVWL Football Limited t/a Bolton Wanderers Football Club is charging you £24.80 for BWFC To confirm, the amount above is "24 Pounds and 80 Pence". We will debit your bank account ******** by Direct Debit on or shortly after January 4, 2022. This payment will appear on your bank statement as Bolton Wanderers, ref: F26****. We will notify you via email at least 3 working days in advance of any changes to your payment date or amount. Edited January 11, 20224 yr by Cheese

Simpleton terms when you buy the season ticket it costs x the dd agreement is a method of paying x that’s all nothing more nothing less nowhere does it say you don’t have to pay x If this or that happens the club has the right to cancel the ticket or suspend as it sees fit and doesn’t have to refund for unused portions as per the legal clauses I’ve highlighter. as such by the fact you agreed to pay x for it the club has a legal right to expect you to pay x for it in full if it chooses. And thus it can continue to take the direct debits or if they stop can pursue you for the balance. thus x remains payable. Whether the ticket remains live or not. but honestly if you think you’re right that’s ok esco

When I get one I just buy it outright - as I'm not a tramp, same with gym membership, but not bothered with either since the lockdown, I've been to both but just paid as I went, including Ifollow, or the odd Sky one.

January 11, 20224 yr Imagine posting terms and conditions. Not reading them. Then someone points you to two clauses in them terms you posted. Sadly. esco Neither of the clauses you pointed to back up your claims though... You aren't entering a credit agreement when you buy a season ticket. If you cancel your Direct Debit, your ticket is cancelled and you probably won't be able to get one in future. Simple as that.

January 11, 20224 yr Right so reading further, I get what esco is saying, but it's not exactly clear on those terms. Anyway, best course of action is to speak to someone politely, and maybe grovel a bit. Why antagonise.
