Beautiful stuff

McCullum wont let it cloud the issues

I hope not.

Stokes' performance all round today was frankly crap.

Perverse use of Overton and short bowling, then batting like it was the last over of a T20.

Positive, attacking cricket is what everyone wants to see, but that was irresponsible.

He's tried batting like that from the off previously, and was fortunate not to be out earlier then.

Not sure why it has to be so black and white- positive can be sensible. Strange thing is that in recent seasons, he's slowed himself down and built slowly then attacked later. Surely there's no reason for that to change

5-100 for Leach

50-5....again

The issue isnt Leach, as limited as he is

And 5-60 for Leach

Purely going off the radio, I reckon he bowled better today. At one point they said he looks like he could take a wicket every ball. He didn't need a freaky catch neither.

Confidence.

Doing pretty well in the chase now- just hope they leave enough runs for the supporters to enjoy tomorrow. :)

I said in the previous Test that I wouldn’t want any player to fail and that if Leach did then Parkinson would get his chance. Leach has been brilliant. Parky will have to wait.

All the pundits agreed parky was bowling too slow

Hopefully, he can work on that

Popes secure now for the winter, crawley and lees less so

Lees gets til end of summer, crawley one more go, imo

Interesting sangakarra suggest buttler should be next in line to open, but the fact they called up billings makes that seem even less likely

Vaughan was talking about it on the radio after close of play. He’s really keen on the idea. But like you thinks Crawley will get one more chance. However, with the India test match being a one-off, I’d take the gamble and see was Jos can do. He’s used to opening the batting in other formats. He’s exciting. And he’s currently one of the best cricketers in the world. What’s the risk? As Vaughan pointed out - our openers are getting out cheaply anyway, so what’s wrong with some experimenting - using a vastly experienced and skilful player - in the mould of Stokes, McCullum. No brainier for me, let’s give it a go.

morgan reported to be announcing retirement, with buttler to take over with immediate effect

My lad went into a queue for free tickets for day 5.

You are in a queue and there are thirty thousand people before you…

And then they haven’t turned up. Apparently ground less than half full.

First thing Buttler should do is recall Stokes to the one day team. And then hope for a reciprocal arrangement!

I think leave Stokes to FC cricket.

Not sure stokes' body would take that amount of work. Does seem to get niggles a fair bit.

Exactly

Jimmy at it again

Jimmy just doing what Jimmy does.

He's made an absolute mockery of his omission from the last series.

This is the series before last.

I'm aware that this is a rescheduled Test. My point was that summer has seen Jimmy make a mockery of not being selected for the winter tour, but I suspect you knew that.

Interesting. Trying not to tempt fate.😊

Invaluable opening partnership- the quickest century by an England opening pair.

These two played very well too. Fingers crossed.

Wandering around Sainsburys for half an hour waiting for my wife listening to TMS. In a world of my own. Probably looked suspicious but didn’t care. I retraced the steps I did for 25 years when it was Hicks. Tempted to take advantage of the free tickets for tomorrow but I remembered I had an important meeting. As it happens, 25,000 tickets sold/given in an hour.
🤞
