Now he's got Monty numb nuts Panedar writing articles about him failing after he bowled 14 overs and got the only wicket by a spinner on a green top. Unfortunately England squad seems to be very cliquey and his face doesn't fit, whilst confident but limited players like Bess get decent runs in the team. For a new era there are remarkably few changes to a playing squad which was badly found out last winter. Wouldn’t want any England player to fail but if Leach doesn’t perform in this Test, it should give Parky a chance to establish himself in the Team. You do fear though that even given a chance, without a good performance, the established players will be brought back. Hopefully, Parky will rise to the challenge. Quote

Hard to see England have moved away from the system where certain players have to overtly fail for 6 months in a row before they get dropped - stability is key, even when it's stability of shit it seems Quote
maaarsh Posted June 11, 2022 Posted June 11, 2022 Starting to get excited to see if Leach can bring up his century unbeaten. (no offence to the lad, but he's not from Bolton and he's clearly not a special player who you stick with to avoid giving the outstanding English spinner of the last 10 years a go). Quote
maaarsh Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Kiwi part timer getting plenty out of the pitch. Leach if the sort of player you can with win, but you'll never win because of him. Nonsensical to stay loyal when you at least have a chance to find out more about a player who's a genuine match winner at the 2nd highest level. Quote

fester58 Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 (edited) just don't get what leach brings to the team, hes average at best will never bowl a side out on a turning wicket, if hes the best in the country then we will never be the no1 test team in the world. don't think he'd get 50 wickets in Bolton league Edited June 14, 2022 by fester58 Quote
Casino Posted June 14, 2022 Author Posted June 14, 2022 It might shut somebody up... Fwiw, our biggest issue was is and remains, the top 3 Some promising signs - id given up on pope - but still a long way to go Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Excellent victory. A 50 over performance on the last day. Remarkable. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Also add that Bracewell got the treatment, and on a last day pitch. Not sure it's fair to judge any spinner in this game. Quote
Didledee Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 That's got to be extremely rare for a team scoring 550 odd in an innings ends up losing, was great entertainment, positive signs, but still some weaknesses, really want Archer to get back and fit. Quote
Casino Posted June 14, 2022 Author Posted June 14, 2022 Archer would prob be a good addition but hes not going to open the batting Quote

One of the highest first innings scores to lose Stokes on 99 sixes in test cricket Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Did they say at the end, that that game had more boundaries than any previous test match? Quote
